Oh yeah, Fred the Insane “helps” all the time. He helped us get rid of a recalcitrant roll of toilet paper that was hanging in the bathroom just the other night....

He helps me find his cookie jar all the time.

He helps Miss Slippy to slip in the kitchen when she’s in there distributing the nightly snack of Boar’s Head turkey to the Catt “family.” He helps clean up the mess, too.

Fred the Insane is a very good kitteh.

My sister now has a cat named “Sneakers”.
Thankfully I had on a thick shirt earlier when speaking to Mr. Sneakers as he decided to launch himself from the floor, ang on my shirt, and then lay down in my arms.

He has awhile to go before he is at Fred levels.

I think you just phoned me.

Hmmm. My cell phone confirms that, but it was acting under its own power. Expect a UPS package on Tuesday.

I can take this only one additional step. Were I to serve as the person responsible during the lunch hour for the somewhat addled individual hanging around the raccoon's lair, would I be the raccoonnoonnookkookkeeper?

Can we go further anyone? Bueller? Bueller?

I heard you speaking nearby, but I guess you couldn’t hear me. Thank you very much! May we make a donation, perhaps to the fight against human trafficking, as a concrete sign of gratitude?

Bill will be thrilled. We will take his picture with it and send it to you. He just got his hair cut, so he should be immortalized with a Cool Guitar! (DP asks, do you have any left-handed versions? He’s not left-handed, but he plays guitar lefty because of a childhood injury to his right hand.)

If the raccoonnoonnookkeeper was a picky eater ... perhaps a Weight Watchers member ... there might be a need for a raccoonnoonnookcookbookkeeper.

Elen says, “Why does Bill get another electric guitar? I have good hair, too!”

Off to take Sally to a birthday party ... she has poison ivy, and if it were a costume party, she could go as a leper or a zombie ... and then DP and I are going out to dinner to celebrate our anniversary, which is Monday.

The meal will not feature raccoon.

Raccoonnoonnookcookbookkeeper doesn't work because you juxtapose a 'c' with a 'k'. It's all about the double letters.

There are more goodies in the box, BTW.

Have you seen this film?

I'm not big on comedies but this is one of my few favorites and I just found it on YouTube.

We haven’t seen that one yet, but thank you for the recommendation. Bryan will never watch a movie on YouTube when he can watch it in that huge media room with the giant flat-screen that has a diagonal almost as long as I am tall.

I found it on Netflix, and I’ll add it to our queue and let you know what we think of it.

You’re very nice to think of us, and the movie has to be funny as all get out with Danny DeVito and Richard Dreyfus in it.

Get a computer with HDMI output and hook it up to that giant flat-screen. Then you can watch Internet content on it whenever you want?

Oh, get a wireless mouse and keyboard, too.

It’s already connected to the Internet. But Bryan prefers to use DVDs. He is the supreme leader and total dictator of the media room, LOL! But thank you anyway.

Yes, most of our electronic gear is wireless. Is there still any other kind?

LOL! Kidding!!

Seriously, I have no say at all about the hardware. He actually does a very good job of the movies we watch. I get to add them to the Netflix queue, and that’s about it.

For what it's worth, you don't have to watch movies on YouTube if you record them using the little app called Replay Media Catcher .

http://applian.com/replay-media-catcher/welcome4.php

Then, using VLC Media Player

http://freedownloads.us.com/download/1/vlc/index3.php?pk=610605&s=google

You can play the film on any sized screen connected to your computer.

Replay Media Catcher, $49.95 and well worth it, will record many free film sites on the web.

An alternative tn Netflix,

I was ten or twelve; standing in a neighbor’s backyard when my cat strolled by. I had scarcely scooped her up in my arms when the neighbor’s dog barked...

...once...

...all 35 pounds of her...

...from around the corner of the house...

...on her chain...

...more than fifty feet away.

My cat paid me the dubious compliment of declaring me her only worldly rescuer by making a world-record, claw-enhanced scramble up to the top of my body like a hound-chased ‘coon rocketing up a lodgepole pine where she crouched bug-eyed, fur on-end, grappling hooks embedded in my scalp like a calico ushanka with the ear-flaps turned up.

Does Elen perchance play the ululele?

No, but she can emit a hell of a shriek if she feels like it. She can strum the ukulele a bit: she's been playing Pat's original mini-uke, now that he has his full-size concert version.

After dropping Sally off, we went to Kohl's, where DP bought a dress shirt. They have a good price on baby clothes, but I don't want to get spring clothes for Kathleen until we see whether she decides to walk: you don't want a crawler in a dress! Then we went to Target, where I bought two pairs of pants for Frank (3.50 each), but I'll have to order underwear from Hanes.com because everything in the stores is too big. At GNC, I found kelp capsules.

Then we went to "Miro' Spanish Grille," to which we have been 3 or 4 times in the past. We arrived just after they opened at 5:00, so had the whole place to ourselves for a while, and it was very nice. We had a tapas plate with 7 or 8 different items. DP ate the calamari, I ate the fried plantain. Then he had a grilled red snapper with shrimp and vegetables, and I had a spiced pork dish with black beans, rice, and more plantain. Sort of Caribbean, but not as strongly flavored as Cuban: I put about 18 ingredients in my Cuban bean dish! I couldn't eat all the pork. I'm sure Bill, who has just arrived from the evening out with his band, will enjoy it.

Then we had tres-leches cake, with a sauce that I'm sure featured heavy cream, but what the heck. You're only married 24 years once (at least, we are, only once) and I'd been through five birthdays in the last two months without a bite of cake. And DP had coffee and I had another glass of Argentinian chardonnay.

There was a couple at the next table whom we know by sight from church, with a boy about 1-1/2. He was pretty good, and we hardly care unless it's one of our children misbehaving, but at one point, he took the LED faux-tealight from the candleholder and put it in his mouth. I thought his mom would die! Kathleen would have done that, too, but she was safely at home ;-).

Very nice evening, and we didn't talk about Scouting at all, and nothing went wrong at home. The kids were all askew and akimbo all over the living room, watching "Phineous and Ferb," when we walked in shortly after 7:00.

Getting on time to sleep here. Tomorrow some people, but not me, will go out in the cold to collect donations for Scouting For Food. And the last I heard, Tom and Elen are still going to a bonfire in the evening. I suppose Bill can stay out late if he’ll bring them home.

Bryan is a movie and music geek. He really enjoys listening to music, watching Netflix or purchased movies and TV shows, and fine-tuning the system.

He does his homework, and he really knows how to keep it all together.

All I do is pick out some of the movies, watch, and listen.

However, he is always amenable to listening to advice from other people, so everything is all right, my friend.

You’re welcome. He was a gorgeous cat, and very sweet. He never scratched or bit anyone on purpose
in his life. If someone was trimming his claws, he would threaten to bite, but he never actually did.

When we found out he had chronic renal failure (CRF), he had to go for evaluation every once in a
while, and the nurses told us that he would hold out his arm (foreleg) and heave a sigh when it was
time to draw blood.

Everybody loved him, vets, nurses, and us. We loved him utterly.

Beeber shows it’s 25 here now. DP and some kids have gone Scouting For Food, which is actually Tom and Pat’s main occupation all the time, only they usually don’t go trolling the streets of random housing developments.

The rest of us are at home being cold.

I’m about to take the vacuum upstairs for some cleaning activity, which might get Bill out of bed.
