Obama to "regulate" inter-state gun sales, "limit" use of lead in ammunition
Fox News Channel | 1/29/13

Breaking... Obama is tripling-down on gun control via executive orders. Sounds like the Class 03 FFL/C&R will be limited or abolished. Will seek to erase the limit on the EPA's regulating lead bullets. Here it comes, unless the Repubs do something.

The GOPe will do worse than nothing. They will vote in favor of it, if it comes to the floor for a vote. Odinga doesn’t need an EO with a CONgress that backs him.

Oblahblah is frustrated because the American public is slow to anger. He was hoping to start CWII a lot more quickly. Now he will have to continue to push the envelope.

Barack Lenin remains true to form and declines to bother with constitutional roles and restraints.

Meanwhile, the sheep in congress say, “Baa Baa,” and do nothing.

And he’s only just STARTED his second term.

Link? I was looking for what C&R is.

"Curio and relics".

Quickly, it is a license that allows purchase of very old and out of date firearms without a FFL.

Also some other benefits, but that is it, mostly.....

Lead poisoning would be horrible if it became epidemic in the political classes.

***Obama to “regulate” inter-state gun sales, “limit” use of lead in ammunition***

After the 1968 GCL was passed you could not buy a firearm over state lines and ammo was regulated. Reagan changed that in the 1980s. Now only handguns cannot be sold across state lines.

As for lead, we knew over forty years ago when the first anti-lead radicals started up that their real goal was the abolition of lead in ammo.

Curios & Relics

Q: What is a firearm curio or relic?

Firearm curios or relics include firearms which have special value to collectors because they possess some qualities not ordinarily associated with firearms intended for sporting use or as offensive or defensive weapons. To be recognized as curios or relics, firearms must fall within one of the following categories:

Have been manufactured at least 50 years prior to the current date, but not including replicas thereof; or

Be certified by the curator of a municipal, State, or

Federal museum which exhibits firearms to be curios or relics of museum interest; or

Derive a substantial part of their monetary value from the fact that they are novel, rare, bizarre, or from the fact of their association with some historical figure, period, or event.

C&R= Curio and Relic license.
Allows you to purchase older weapons, (50+ YO) that meet certain criteria. Also good for discounts at FFL dealers and online companies. 10% off at Midway USA and Brownells plus others.

C&R FFL allows the holder to purchase curio and relic-class firearms (i.e. Mosin Nagants or Mausers) without going through an FFL for transfer. I’ve bought many C&R firearms with my FFL03. This is a sad and tragic thing to have happen. I’ll keep an eye on my mailbox for more information.

C&R refers to “Curio and Relic”, in other words an 03 Federal Firearms License.

The 03 license is a collector’s license, it allows said licensed individuals to have certain firearms that are legally classed as curios and relics shipped straight to the license holder’s front door. Numerous vendors also give 03 FFL holders the same resale discounts they do to other FFL holders.

He'll need to beware, thee Toxic Substances Control Act of 1976 specifically exempts lead from governemnt regulation in ammunition....

He cannot override US statute with an EO, other than to tell all administrative agencies to stop using it and use something else....

If he so does, then he'll be breaking US law and the duty of the office of president as defined by the constitution. Impeach him.

High crimes and misdemeanors include deliberately violating or circumventing the laws of the US. He is charged with a constitutional duty of taking care that the laws are faithfully executed (Art II section 3), not breaking them for political expediences.
