Butter vs. Margarine: New Research Reveals Which is Healthier
newsmax ^ | 2/15/2013 | Sylvia Booth Hubbard

Margarine isn't better for your heart than butter — it's worse, according to a new analysis of a 40-year-old study. For 50 years, health experts and organizations, including the American Heart Association, have urged people to replace butter and other saturated fats in their diets with vegetable oils to reduce the risk of heart disease. Millions of Americans responded by replacing butter with margarine made from omega-6 polyunsaturated vegetable oils found in corn and safflower oil.

Decades later, however, heart disease is still the leading cause of death in both American men and women, and a recent analysis of data collected from 1966 to 1973 indicates that replacing butter and other saturated fats with vegetable oils may have increased the risk of heart disease instead of reducing it.

Marie, with all due respect, there’s nothing right about not washing your hands after going to the bathroom. It’s just filthy, period. People in Third World countries at least have the excuse of not having the facilities, or even the knowledge to do so. I’m a big fan of sanitizers, bleach, Lysol, and all that, and thank the Lord, I can’t remember the last time we got sick.

Bottom line-—I don’t want poop in my soup.

I used to think that...now I grow 200 varieties of tomatoes, and the only hands they pass through belong to my wife or me. :-)

With all the prepared foods we buy with God knows what in them, the little bit of butter we use is meaningless.

When my brother and I were kids we played in the hay barn, went barefoot in the chicken yard, made mud pies and sometimes ate a bite, slept with a dog and a cat in our beds drank unpasteurized milk right from Suzie the cow and we were both asthmatic and had terrible allergies. According to you we shouldn’t have had any allergies, go figure.

Too often we lose simplicity. And our kids and grandkids have lost so much because of it. Everything’s built on speed in the culture they are in and seems disposable. Your family is fortunate. It’s a gift you’ll pass on to your kids or grandkids and something they need more than anything else you could give to them.

i’ve been make a gluten free pancake that fires up nicely in EVOO ~ actually sucks it up. Then we serve them with a bit off melted butter and maple syrup. They taste crispy.

“I live a simple life. I don’t really relate to Conservatism, or Republican-ism. I won’t even begin to describe the other side. I just want to live my life free (the way it was in my memories). And to pass that along.”

I think we all admire you. Unfortunately way too many people on our side think that we can achieve that goal by not having to do anything. Unfortunately there is the other half of the country that wants to take all that away, jail us, and even worse - if they could just figure out a way. And, unfortunately, too many people on our side are unable to comprehend the pure evil that they represent, so they slowly make progress towards that goal, as they’ve done in all other societies, where they good people stood by...

If you’ve had a refried bean burrito properly made those beans were smashed out in a lard matrix.

one of our larger political factions consists mostly of TRADITIONALISTS. They just want to be left alone to do what they want ~ and to get to do that in modern times you have to be political.
