You wanna do it again? ☺
Good sport to let this go public. He was sho’ nuff scared. A few of us would be too...
Very cool.
Thanks for the post, laughed out loud!
Just a good ol' boy.
I dont know if I believe this. Did they give him a fake ID to do the test drive????
And what about the potential liability from a salesguy who didn’t appreciate it, etc.
Also, what about that convenient cup holder in just the right spot for the pepsi cam??
It’s still darn funny.
It was probably set up via Rick Hendrick so what is the salesman going to say to the owner of the dealership?
Too much liability.
Like Ad Age says..real or contrived..it will be past far and wide by Nascar fans.
They bought the car and donated it to a charity — will be sold again at a tidy profit as a Gordon car, no doubt.
I think the salesman was a great actor. Had he not been in on it he would have had a coronary.
Great post, loved it.
Jeff and his parents moved from California to Indianapolis when he was 14 because Indiana lets you race high powered sprint cars at that age.
He attended hs just down the street and was known as a polite young man.
Now he’s living in the most expensive (per sf) building in NYC, where Jay-Z, Lloyd Blankfein (head of Goldman Sachs), and a few other notables reside.
Funny, but fake. NO WAY would Pepsi assume such liability.
1) Opened themselves up to lawsuits for the prank alone
2) Not to mention what would happen in the case of an accident
3) Jeff Gordon is now a stunt driver?
4) The stunts were dangerous, even for an experienced stunt driver (jumps, etc).
Still, a funny idea.
And once again:

Sums up so much about America today. Sigh.
Reminds me of this scene with Jack Lemmon in the 60’s movie “Good Neighbor Sam.” (LOL!!!)

Good acting. Still made me laugh.
I agree. A hilarious viral ad, and very well done...if it was a movie.
But it screamed “fake” from the first time I saw it.
Who cares, it’s fun, and a great idea.
