The fight has officially been brought to my front door
Last night I was out with a buddy of mine. I got a text from my wife that the cops and dyfs are at the house and they wanna check out my guns and needed me to open my safe. I'm instantly on my way. I get in contact with evan Nappen on the way. I explain the situation. I walk in my house and hand the phone to the first cop I see. Then direct all of em outside. Dyfs got a call because of a pic on my son holding a gun. They wanted to look around and check all my guns out, make sure they were all registered. Obviously that didn't go well because I refused. I had Nappen on speaker phone the entire time so they had to deal with both of us. They kept trying to pressure me to open my safe. They had no warrant, no charges, nothing. I didn't budge. I was told I was being "unreasonable" and that I was acting suspicious because I wouldn't open my safe. Told me they were gonna get a search warrant. Told em go ahead. Nappen (my lawyer) asked me for the dyfs workers name. she wouldnt give it. i asked for credentials and she wouldnt show em. i tried to take a pic of her and she turned around real fast and walked away. After a while of them threatening to take my kids, get warrants and intimidation they left. Empty handed and seeing nothing.
People it can happen that fast. Most people wouldn't have stood up to them like I did.

Looks like a recent happening.
The = I
Holy warantless searches Batman!
Since when is a picture of a “child” holding a rifle cause for suspicion of child abuse?
I was looking at the account setup date then. Thanks for the clarification. It is recent.
Hope that this guy sues the crap out of the police force.
He did a great job of standing up to them, I must say.
Division of Youth and Family Services.
Or ‘Die Fuss’ as it is pronounced.
Always have a lawyer on standby. Do not ever deal with government officials or law enforcement by yourself.
Damn Yankees fo sho...
Dept. of (oh! the :) Chil’ren Services?
Division of Youth and Family Services.
(Sounds like one of the comrades told on his neighbor to make the world safe “for the children”)
Just an irritant to me about the writing: he says he’s talking to “evan Nappen” (apparently on the telephone but not stated as such) but doesn’t get around to identifying Mr. evan Nappen as his lawyer until the sixth line.
A while back I had a break in. I warned the cops clearing the house that there were guns inside because we didn’t know if the people were still inside.
As soon as they cleared the home the first thing I wanted to do is check to make sure the firearms were still there. Found the key in my gun safe but everything was there. First thing one of the cops asked is “how many guns do you have?”
Its tough telling cops no. I admire this guy for being strong enough to do so.
Thanks for the heads-up.. Photos at link complete the story!
> dyfs ????
The Division of Youth and Family Services (DYFS)[DYE-fuss] is New Jersey’s child protection agency. - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Division_of_Youth_and_Family_Services
I don’t have a lawyer I can call in this kind of situation. Perhaps I should rectify that omission.
