Was at my college radio station in Mass.; my very first show was Mar 12 of that year, and the UPI teletype (old fashioned one) dinging like crazy. I think press secy. James Brady was erroneously said to be dead in news reports.
Later a punk band (forget who) had a song that started:
First Lincoln
Then Kennedy
But Reagan
Got away.
