Posted on 04/05/2013 7:20:30 PM PDT by MNDude

There are a lot of lousy musicians that are a lot more popular than they deserve, but in you opinion, who are the three most over rated musicians (or groups) of all time?

Ditto on Bruce Springsteen.
I’ll also add Billy Joel, Jethro Tull, Coldplay, Neil Young, and the worst of the worst over-rated bands, The Dave Matthews Band.

"Bruce Springsteen."

Amen! Time and Newsweek both had him on their covers within a week of each other back in the late '70's as I recall. It was the first I had heard of him. Let's face it, Bob Dylan and Tom Waits were successful, too...at least they had memorable lyrics.

OMG !!!! I’ve been having a fight on FB for months with the friend of a friend about Sinatra, and he and his friends are going beserk that I dared to criticize him. One of them even said, “Cite one authority who sys that Sinatra can’t sing” - and I answered that even if I had the names of twenty people who agreed with me, I wouldn’t list them because I don’t make my judgements based on consensus - I do it based on my hear - he has a harsh tone and sings flat. I call his his style “all delivery, no voice.”
