A monkey was mauled by a bear after a disturbing circus stunt went wrong.
A video has emerged online of two monkeys and a black bear being forced to ride bicycles around a track in front of a large crowd.
After two laps of the track, one of the monkeys crash and the bear then attacks it as it lies stuck under the bicycle.ok
The gruesome video is believed to have been shot at the Shanghai Wild Animal Park, in China, which has hit the headlines in the past for its 'Wild Animal Olympics'.
In the video, the audience can be heard cheering and laughing as the animals are sent riding around the small arena.
Circus workers holding sticks push the small bikes off but after a few seconds one monkey and the bear crash. Staff can be seen desperately trying to force the bear off as it grabs the small monkey in its mouth.
At one stage three workers, dressed in brightly coloured costumes, try to wrestle the bear away, while another leads the second monkey away.

You post the most interesting things! Yesterday high-potency beer and today monkey-eating bears. Well, your time has come, carraway, what with the new Gatsby movie and all . . .
Well we have Barak Obama for President and Joe Biden for Vice-President and yet we still have the strongest economy in the world. (at least for now)
So whats your point?
“Gee Yogi, I don’t think the ranger’s gonna like that very much!”
Bear and ape baiting was a favorite pastime in Shakespeare’s lifetime.
I am sure the monkey in trouble triggered the predatory instinct in the bear. Wounded prey is the easiest to attack.
Major Lance - Monkey Time
“Dont even get me started on the clowns.......”
My brother-in-law did the clown stuff part time for years. Don’t get me started, LOL.
Second Monkey: I don't have to out-pedal the bear...
“Don’t you know you gonna shock the monkey!”
I blame road rage.
A college gal wrote her dad and aksed him for money to buy a bicycle since it was the rage for all the coeds to buy a bicycle.........................before she got the money he sent to buy the bike..... the rage to buy a bike ended and all the kids started buying monkeys instead.. ............................
her dad wrote back ‘sell the bicycle’
All joking aside, the fact that this form of entertainment exists in that country shows how backwards and primitive they still are.......
I take it "Killer Klowns From Outer Space" is not your favorite movie?
Animals have a strong instinct to attack any nearby injured animal and finish it off, and hunger seems to have nothing to do with it. This behavior may be an instinctual way of attempting prevention of the spread of disease.
I’ve seen this behavior many times. Birds are very prone to attack a suddenly injured member of their group. Even domestic animals will sometimes display this type of aggression.
The bear was just being a bear.
Mother Nature is a mean momma!
