In a sporting world where the big boys invariably grab all the glory, there is one competition where the romantic notion of the underdog toppling the giant sometimes becomes reality. Not often, but regularly enough to keep seemingly hopeless dreams alive. The English FA Cup is soccer's oldest knockout competition, and while it is often won by the greatest teams in the Premier League it is also the source of some of the greatest upset results.

Now Wigan has two games to keep itself alive. Looks like a straight math exercise, they’re not playing the other possibles heads up. Stan Collymore had a nice comment today about how his late dad was a Wigan supporter.

Wigan seems to always be in this position and somehow manages to escape every year....it won’t be easy this time, though.

I really wasn’t too excited about the match going in, but as it went on, and it looked like Wigan had a chance, I started really getting into it....City thoroughly deserved to be a man down, that tackle by Zabaleta should have been a straight red, if he didn’t already have a yellow. Wigan is fighting relegation from Barclays premier league, and beat No 2 in the BPL Man City in the cup final. It goes to show that any team can beat any team on any given weekend. Man City have a load of money to burn. I have a feeling there is about to be 2 clubs in Manchester looking for new managers. FTM

If Wigan goes down, there’s a good chance Martinez will move to Everton...I think he’s a good manager....especially with the limited resources that Wigan has.

I don’t think Wigan is going down. I think they just might beat arsenal. I think QPR is will upset the Geordies, and I think Di Canio is going head hunting at Tottenham. I think Newcastle will go down this year. I hope so. FTM

I was watching baseball and did not see this. I certainly wasn’t expecting this result.
I think Mourinho will go back to Chelsea though I was hoping he would come to us but I think Moyes is cheaper and more of a yes man to the board.
Saying that we’ve done well with jocks Fergie and Busby though he has never won anything and no euro knowledge.
