KFC smuggled into Gaza from Egypt

Junk-food starved Gazans can now order Kentucky Fried Chicken to go thanks to a new smuggling service which brings takeout from Egypt via a network of underground tunnels.

It’s not exactly “fast”—taking several hours to arrive, with the Palestinian delivery company behind it charging hefty prices to cover the cost of fuel and transport. …

Tight restrictions on Gazans entering Egypt mean those with a craving for chicken cooked to Colonel’s Secret Recipe cannot just pop over the border and pick up a bucket.

Instead, some residents seem quite happy to shell out ₪130 (£23; $35) for just 20 pieces of fried chicken—double what it costs in El-Arish. …

They sure can afford to pay a lot more for chicken than I can.

I can’t afford the regular prices right now.

If they can afford to shell out thirty-five bucks for a bucket of chicken then the global pablum-pukers need to stop whining about how tough they have it.

They’d have a KFC on every corner in Gaza if they’d stop blowing stuff up and killing everyone who isn’t anti-Israeli enough.

My local KFC here serves up nothing but pieces of greasy cartilage with skin hanging off it. Never again.

If you order the "special" you get three pieces of chicken and an RPG in your bucket.

For a while I was calling them Kentucky Fried Chick because the chicken pieces kept getting smaller and smaller. If they took it any further I expected to get an egg fried in their secret herbs and spices.

Yeah, what I was thinking too. Need that free ‘palestinian’ cash.

Looks like it’s working for them real well.

Ours too. And they will charge you over $20 for a bucket ‘family meal’. Extra for every piece of real (white meat) chicken you add.
I quit KFC long ago. They are expensive. I have switched to El Pollo Loco which is cheaper and has much better meals anyway.

Righteous plan. KFC’s worth the smuggle.

There is a KFC right across the street from our local Chick-Filet-A. CFA always has a line at their double lane drive thru and their parking lot is full, regardless of the time of the day. Rarely ever see anyone in line at the KFC or more than 2-3 cars in their parking lot.

But it is peach shake time at CFA. That may account for some of it. Local manager said they have run out of the peach several times already this month and that demand is about twice what it was last year.

The Colonel gave me food poisoning twice during the Summer of ‘78. Once here in Pittsburgh, once in the People’s Republic of Maryland. KFC has not touched my lips since.

Hard for KFC to keep pressure cookers in their Gaza shops because the terrorists keep taking them for ordinance making
