“Comprehensive” is another word. Look up meaningless BS nonsense in the dictionary.
And now that you’ve figured it out, they will change their name again. They are organized crime. You shine a light on the cockroaches, and the name changes from Democratic Socialists to Progressive Party all the way to Liberals(Which is the opposite of socialist).
So, what do you do. You remember one thing. It applies to all forms of BS. The word is “Collectivist”.
It applies to Socialism, NAZIism, Communism, Democratic Socialism, Islam(Sharia), and every other Government religion that exterminates Millions. Keep it simple.
Maybe the GOP should describe themselves as Ultra-progressive just to co-op the phrase.
These types always come up with names that are the opposite of how they think. “Progressive” is really regressive in terms of freedom, science and anything else. “Liberal” really means “we want to control your every move and thought”. “Fact” means “lie”. And so on.
The answer is simple: socialism failed as a brand name in America, for the simple reason that we already had a government directed by society, and knew that “socialism” wasn’t that. So the socialists rebranded themselves with the most popular label they could think of - “progressive.”But what of the word "Progressive"?

You are correct that progress as a good is taken for granted in America - which is why the term “conservative” is actually a negative label applied to us by our opponents.When the socialists ran the term “Progressive” into the ground, they switched to the term, “Liberal” in the 1920s (date per William Safire). It took decades for them to run “liberal” into the ground, and now they seem to be switching back to “progressive,” on the theory that Irving voters don’t remember when they ran that into the ground.
"Liberal" used to mean a good thing..."progressive" also seemed like a positive thing (what's the antonym? "neanderthal"? lol)...
We see the current "reality"...but would love to take back those words!!
Progressives are people who find our Constitution too limiting and think an administrative state run by “experts” is the best way to take care of the people in society.
Exactly...classical liberals (i.e. most of us) seek voluntary cooperation (family, friendships, business and civil community), "progressives" seek involuntary cooperation (i.e. do it their way or else).

They’re in both parties. John McCain is a “progressive.”
It’s hard to turn that label against them. I rather think that we should refer to commies as the “pro-slavery” people, and those who support them as “slaves”. That is precisely what they are. They should be depicted as such in all graphics and ads. The communist and nazi labels have outlived their impact.
We can tarnish “progressive” the way we destroyed “liberal” after they improperly seized the term, which means the opposite of what they think it means.
