It was brought out in the movie that Liberace sued some media of the time for reporting that he was a homosexual.....AND WON.........
Um . . . he didn't do a very good job.
What did he play? Catwoman?............
Sears Craftsman..............
Again, um . . .
The truth hurts. The gay lifestyle just isn’t that flattering. Didn’t watch. My time is too valuable.
That's a joke, right?
Well, at least the movie seems to be an actual portrayal of the 'gay' lifestyle...
Uhhhhhhhh. what?
No need to watch H’wood try to justify homosexual behavior.
HOMOSEXUAL, because there’s nothing GAY about it.
This is the new aMeriKa. I bet Bathhouse Barry enjoyed it.
I thought that was some kind of computerized video game.
People pretty much knew about Rock Hudson also, they just didn’t talk about things like that much.
Without the media driving daily conversation and erasing the line between entertainment celebrities, gossip, and news and world events, people back then could just watch Liberace and Hudson without being much interested in the behind the curtain issues.
Since news was about news back then, men just never sat around talking about homosexual actors, pop-stars, Hollywood Divas, and all the other celebrity stuff today that even the grown men are exposed to.
It used to be that if you wanted to be saturated with all the tripe, women had to seek it out with specialized magazines, not the evening news and newspapers and Time and US News and World report.
If the inane public saw the film , as we did as well as the Cannes film, Blue about lesbians, saw the sexual positions, the filth, the lingo, the Adult Book Stores, the lies, the social lying, one would understand perhaps why Biblically, all sex sin has a greater impact on humanity that many other sins: adultery, fornication, lusts, homosexuality. But PC baloney will rule the day, and liberals, mostly pagans, will talk about the love. Yikes.
Agreed. I didn't see the previews, and while I don't get HBO, I won't attempt to see the show. I have some wonderful memories from when I was little of visiting my grandparents and watching his TV show. And incredible performer and showman, and such a talented pianist.
I seem to recall that he had an awful lot of personal "demons" and lived a rather unhappy life. I have no wish to see what caused his pain. Instead I prefer to remember him as he portrayed himself on his TV shows. Phylis Diller was said to be one of his closest friends and tried to help him as best she could.

The character that plays Theon reminds me of a young Mick Jagger.
Sleezy content, but Oscar/emmy-worthy acting, especially by Douglas. Smartly staged and directed. BUT, wish it hadn’t been shared. However, it was not kind to the gay movement.
How about Debbie Reynolds as Liberace’s mom?! I forgot she was in it until I read the credits at the end.
Yep, I agree. I think Alfie Allen has done a great job playing Theon. That is one of the things a love about the TV series. The actors are so perfectly cast that it is just astonishing.
I would say that the actress I thought was the worst cast was the one who plays Shae. However, I have even warmed up to her. The fierceness that she brings to the role is great.
The actor that I really have begun to appreciate the most in one of the lesser characters is the one who plays Petyr Baelysh “Littlefinger”. He is so sinister, it just oozes from him.
And yes I do feel extremely badly for talking about something totally unrelated to this thread >_>
