Not even Chewbacca and his light saber get a free pass with airport security before being cleared to travel.

Transportation Security Administration agents in Denver briefly stopped “Star Wars” franchise actor Peter Mayhew recently as he was boarding a flight with a cane shaped like one of science-fiction’s most iconic weapons.

I met him at Indianapolis one year in a pub...talked about Iraq and the War at the time - he really wanted to know what was going on over there...I believe it was 2007...gave me his card and got up for a photo with me...I remember him standing up and I though - geez this guy is a giant...then he place his hand on my shoulder and I felt like a 4 yr old boy next to grown adult...but one heck of a guy - his wife also...great people!

I think this story is BS. After thoroughly checking all airlines operating out of Denver, there are none that serve Kashyyk.

i met prowse when i was 9 or 10, he was doing a promo at my dad’s penneys store - 1979 - i saw him out of costume, not exactly sure who he was, but later when he came out from the offices in back in costume, eyes got reeeeeeal big and everyone - kids, adults, got real quiet.

I wonder how long it took them to HANDLE the stick and realize it wasn’t a working laser? Hmmm- coherent light you can lean on? A lightsaber you can touch that doesn’t slice through you? This took HOW long to identify as a CANE? Or is it that all canes are potential weapons? Too bad the semi-crippled Mayhew didn’t open a can of whoop-ass on’em with his ‘lightsaber’.
