Sounds rather strange. In most jurisdictions don’t cops
have to complete copious quantities of paperwork after
firing their weapons?

In most jurisdictions, dog shootings are rubberstamped as “justified”.
Preparation for the day when shootings of Freepers will be rubberstamped “justified”.

i would not classify that as the same kind of situation i just commented about. the owners that had their dog walking around the officers several times and then shot by thm, on the porch, for the hell of it, are not like George Hitcho at all.

Just out of curiosity, why don’t I ever see stories of courageous police officers shooting cats? Are cats a neglected species? Does the EPA protect them? Are courageous police officers afraid of cats?

In most jurisdictions dont cops have to complete copious quantities of paperwork after firing their weapons?
- Option 0. You, as a cop, have to drive to the beat and then chase some hoodlums around for the whole duration of the shift. You may become cold, wet, and uncomfortable. There is always some danger involved, and Control is always bothering you with status and assignments.
- Option 1. You, as a cop, have to sit in a comfortable chair at the station and type on a computer, as slowly as you can manage. You may become relaxed, sleepy, or full of coffee and donuts. There is no danger, and you are immune from Control's calls.
It doesn't appear that the "copious quantities of paperwork" is a punishment. It's more like a reward - the same pay for an office job.

One of the best investments you’ll ever make is a DVR 24/7 security camera system.
Mine has 4 cameras and I can see [and replay, if necessary] everything that happens on my property.
Recorded video tends to keep people honest...even cops.

I haven’t forgotten. :(
But thank you for the reminder. More people need to be aware of that as well.

These types of cops will cause more and more people to hate cops. I would not want a job where I am despised by the public en masse.

I disagree.
Cops entering one's BY for no real exigent circumstances are not allowed to terminate dogs extant in same, especially given boss cop direction.
It's totally a fascist Statist attempt at peep control. George is a patriotist as it turns out.

I think people have to sue the cops personally. Yes, they may be in uniform, but they are still making individual decisions that they need to be responsible for.
