"Responsibility to Retreat" is the phrase being used in Miami media this week!
WFOR, WPLG, WSVN, WTVJ | 7/18/13

As the liberal Miami media works hand in hand with Democrats and race card players and gun grabbers, they are employing a phrase in their effort to get STAND YOUR GROUND laws repealed....

That phrase is "responsibility to retreat"... They are insisting that the law be amended to make it mandatory for victims of crime to run away.

First of all, isn't that ALREADY part of the law--to seek safety when possible? Second, if we are to believe the leftards, isn't that what Trayvon DIDN'T do?

Anyway, I think it is disgusting to hear anyone tell me I have to run away when I am attacked.

Is anyone else hearing the media spew this crap?

It’s kind of hard to retreat when someone’s on top of you punching you in the face and slamming your head into the concrete.

I like Chesty Pullers observation on retreat, “Actually we have more enemy behind us than in front.”

Well, in that case, they'd suggest you just simply submit.

How does one retreat when knocked to the ground with a stronger guy sitting on your chest pounding your head against the concrete?

Has the author ever had his nose broken? That can result in pain so great that you are almost immobilized.

But pain or not, there is the matter of a big guy sitting on your chest.

This is what the whole Zimmerman case is about. It is a response to failure of gun control measures in Congress and state legislatures.
“You can have your guns, but if you dare to use them against our favored people, we’ll rake you over the coals, just like Zimmerman.”

“Just hand over your wallet or purse, your watch, jewelry, your car keys, etc

That reminds me of a scene from one of The Pink Panther movies.

Yep, I’ve been saying that from the beginning.

Thoughts?

Absolutely.

They are part of building a national narrative about Zimmerman failing to ID himself, “following”, and not “retreating”.

That will be the basis of the civil suit...not the civil rights suit.

The civil suit will be used, they hope, to bankrupt Zimmerman, and to present as evidence of their correctness all along.

The civil rights suit will proceed without any evidence because it will: (1) come about next year to distract at an opportune time during the mid-term elections, and (2) it keeps racial tension boiling.

What about the modern MSM’s responsibility to commit seppuku to atone for their stupidity, ignorance, and general idiocy?

Brave, Brave, Brave Sir Robin
Bravely Turned his Tail and Ran

Brave Sir Robin ran away.
Bravely ran away, away.
When danger rears it’s ugly head
He bravely turned his tail and fled.
Yes Brave Sir Robin turned about
He gallantly chickened out.

Bravely taking to his feet
He beat a very brave retreat.
Oh bravest of the brave, Sir Robin.

Trayvon thought the police or security guard was followign him. so he did the next logical thing. attacked. now, if oyu thought it might be police or security and knowing they can be armed, do you attack or do you retreat? Trayvon did not retreat. George was unable to retreat once confronted.

The phrase was Originally "La responsabilité de retraite"

Yes the phrase Responsibility to Retreat is based on a traditional french slogan "La responsabilité de retraite" to which I say Phooo Eeeey

this will all be explained when the new set of Standards for Public Conduct in the U.S.A.is handed down by Jesse Jackson's friends at the UN...later this week

I read the comment section after most of these news articles. People on both sides of the discussion seem to be in agreement that none of this would have happened if GZ had stayed in his car. So now we must stay out of certain neighborhoods, do not go out alone after dark regardless of the neighborhood now, and not get out of our cars. Wouldn’t it be much easier if we were told to stay in our homes and not be allowed out at all. What is the word for that...segregation? People will say but it is only common sense to stay safe. Really is that how we WANT to live?
GZ wasn’t stupid or reckless he had the courage of his convictions and yes now he is paying the price like many courageus men throughout history have done.
