Obamacare attacks the liberty and financial viability of the traditional family, and nothing demonstrates this more clearly than the system of federal subsidies it puts in place starting next year. This system rewards people who don’t marry, don’t work and don’t take care of their own children. It punishes people who do marry, work hard and take care of their own children.

Under Obamacare, the federal government orders all Americans to have health insurance. Households with adjusted gross incomes of less than 100 percent of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL) will go on government-run Medicaid, and households with adjusted gross incomes between 100 percent and 400 percent of FPL can qualify for a subsidy to help them buy their government-mandated health insurance—provided they do not qualify for Medicaid in their state and their employer does not offer them coverage. …

Married couples seeking the subsidy are required to file joint tax returns and whether their premiums are capped or not is determined by the couple’s combined income. The law thus imposes a steep penalty on Americans who live in traditional families. …

Wait until they are 55, on medicaid, and find out that all the benefits they receive will be placed as a lien on any property they might want to leave to their kids.

It is that way with Medicare now. There are many families that maneuver a sick parent’s assets around so that Medicare doesn’t take it for reimbursement so that they can inherit it when they die.

It can be done but it has to be done at least a year before they enter a nursing home and go on Medicare.

Exactly.

When the first IRS Obama Care liens take place- then we shall finally see the weakest generation in US history turn off Dancing with the starts and take an interest in this nation.

They first deserve to lose everything though.

I have no problem with that if they follow the laws and regulations about it. It’s called estate planning.

I do have a problem with people who don’t plan and then when trouble comes try to skirt their responsibilities by foisting off the full cost of caring for their parent to the other tax paying citizens.

BTW, my recollection was that the actions had to be 2 years before that, but no biggie.

That’s not a mistake. For the Dems that’s a feature.

"all the benefits they receive will be placed as a lien on any property they might want to leave to their kids."

This is what socialism is. It is the confiscation of private property. That is the true purpose of Obamacare. The government will control your assets and your right to receive medicare care. They will steal all you have worked for and force you to beg some corrupt government bureaucrat to get health care for yourself and your family.

It does seem like a lot of what is going on now is depleting the savings of retirees and older baby boomers which would’ve been inherited by the next generation. It’s another way to permanently deplete the middle class.

This stuff is confusing. Please have a navigator from the SEIU or ACORN come to my house and detail my health care options for me. Help me traverse the vast wilderness of ObamaCare wonderland. We all need a lawyer assigned to us at no charge.

obamacare is what the bastards that voted for Obama wanted. They got it and now they are crying. Let them cry.

But the reason that those who said obamacare would be the best thing since sliced bread is now to start agitating for a one payer system, a/k/a, socialized medicine.

Only an Obama voter did not know how bad obamacare actually is. Everyone on this forum knew how bad it would be and probably tried to warn others. I know I did, to no avail. So now they have it. Let them enjoy it.

If she were a lesbian single mom entering into a same sex marriage would she be exempt from the “fine?”

Or should I say tax? After all the SC ruled it a tax.
