for later
Watched the wedding show (first time watching any of the Duck Dynesty shows)...and loved it.
Those folks are good...and quick witted.
Any of them would best the Obamadork in a Dixie minute. We need more folks like them ... and less hoodies.
They’re so REAL. Yeah. Nobody behind the scenes says “Okay, here’s the script for the spontaneous, hilarious, slap-stick scene that isn’t scripted this week.”
BTW, Jep's not the only one who cried when Miss Kay spoke her vows.
God, I miss America!
We have to DVR Duck Dynasty so our daughter can watch it with us. One of the few programs we have no problem letting her watch.
From what I’ve heard the Robertsons weren’t always always so wholesome - Phil had some problems and left for a time, and the boys were not exactly the type you wanted your kids hanging around - but they certainly have “gotten it together” now, which is great to see. Seem like good people to me...
“God, I miss America!”
It was great while it lasted.
What is the gist of this show, and why should I watch it?
Bump
The average viewer of the show having an I.Q equal to one the duck decoys I can understand it’s popularity.
I haven’t seen this show yet.
So this is a “real” reality show, unlike all the others which probably range from 75% to 100% scripted?
“What is the gist of this show, and why should I watch it?”
If you have to ask, you probably shouldn’t.
There’s very little “reality” involved. It’s staged. It’s a show about a close knit family of rich rednecks. Each show has a sort of loose theme, a moral that is summed up at the end when the family says a prayer around their evening meal.
It’s fun, it’s silly, it has a moral, but there is no compelling reason to watch. It’s just a nice way to spend some time with some people you’d like to know.
I love Phil!
The surprising thing is this show is just about a family, their values, and its everyday life. THAT’s ALL.
It’s just is a reality television series on A&E. It shows the lives of the Robertson family, who became wealthy from their family-operated business, Duck Commander, operated in West Monroe, Louisiana, which makes products for duck hunters, primarily the duck call named Duck Commander. The Robertson men, brothers Phil and Si, and Phil’s sons Jase, Willie, and Jep, are known for their long beards.
The business began in a family shed, where Phil Robertson spent 25 years making duck calls from Louisiana cedar trees.
His son Willie is now the CEO of the company. The family was previously featured on the series Benelli Presents Duck Commander and its spin-off Buck Commander, which still airs on the Outdoor Channel.
The show has broken several ratings records on both A&E and cable television as a whole; the fourth season premiere drew 11.8 million viewers, the most-watched nonfiction cable telecast in history.
“The average viewer of the show having an I.Q equal to one the duck decoys I can understand its popularity.”
So you come onto a thread where people are expressing an appreciation of this program, only to dump on them?
Are you that inadequate that you feel a need to try to establish some small shred of superiority by insulting people on an internet forum?
That’s a sad behavior, and once again, you’ve failed miserably.
Imagine if the Beverly Hillbillys had stayed in Bug Tussel after striking it rich.
“I havent seen this show yet.

I don’t know about the scripts, but it’s totally staged. If it is not staged, these very rich rednecks don’t do a lick of work.
It’s staged, and it’s silly, but it has a moral. It’s not for everyone, but when I have some time to kill, I watch.
