If you want a friend, get a dog. Our 5 year old pit mix started limping a few weeks back and an x-ray revealed she has severe arthritis in her hip joints and lower spine. Rather unusual for a fairly young pooch, and of course not a whimper of pain from her due to the breed.
My theory is a previous owner ran her too hard when she was a puppy, or it's just a genetic thing. The vet put her on a NSAID medication which helps the condition. She's a big cuddle bug, and every day is Dog Day around here.

We had an operation last week. She had a dislocated toe and the vet said it was easier to take it off at the joint than try to fix it.

there is a supplement Called phycox that my little princess is on along with Dinovite. they seem to be helping her quite a bit.<P.She had a bad case of Lymes disease that threw her off her game, but this has her almost back 100%.
