THE WILD SIDE: It's a scramble for the two AL wild-card spots, with a half-dozen teams trying to claim them. Texas, Cleveland and Tampa Bay are at the top, but wobbling.
Pinch-hitter Justin Morneau's single sent Pittsburgh over the Cubs 3-2 Sunday, leaving the Pirates even with St. Louis for the NL Central lead.
WHAT'S THE FORECAST?: Wicked weather always seems to wreak havoc at the end of the season. Cleveland waited out a rain delay of nearly 4 1/2 hours in Chicago before beating the White Sox 7-1 Sunday night. Just watch - somewhere, a storm will sweep into another stadium at the most inopportune time.

i am undercover. Deep cover, as they say.
I rarely leave the house.
GO YANKEES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mauro...SSSHHHHHHHH!!!
Loose lips sink ships.
Yanks are gonna hafta GO soon or they are gone!
Astros are mixing it up again tonite! (Impy’s new team for September.)
Yu finally gets some run support, but dang, I’ve never seen anyone who throws more pitches per inning....109 in only 5 innings.
That's the way baseball go.
Yes.
CLE Wins....Texas is 3 outs away.
Haven’t Red Sox clinched division...? They’ve clinched at least a tie with Tampa Bay, and they would hold the tiebreaker!
One tiebreak game will be played on Thursday, October 4th (tentatively) to determine the Division Champion. Home field advantage will be determined by the rules above for a two-team tiebreaker.
So the magic number is still one.
Getting good!
Who is that?
that is Mauro when he is undercover.
even if both teams qualify for postseason ... if 2 teams tie for division ... they play a tiebreaker game to determine who gets the division and who has to go to wildcard game.
It would be TB @ Boston ... I am sure it is Monday, the 30th.
The Yankees will be playing golf soon. Cleveland will get a WC, Tampa or Texas the other.
Thursday, September 26, Rivera’s last home game. I guessing he’ll pitch the 9th no matter the score.
Jon Cary’s face:
Some people have a “sh*t-eatin’ Grin”.
Kerry just actually IS sh*t.
“Go YANKEES!!!!”
Indeed...
The Phillies are in the toilet, for sure... Eh...
Growing up in Philly, and being a Yankees fan, well... it wasn’t easy.. hahaha!! I was torn when the Yanks and Phils were in the World Series against each other a few years back...
I also always had a soft spot in the heart for “The Tribe” too... Seeing the Cleveland Indians doing some post season work will be fun...
The Red Sox tribute to Mariano was a real tear jerker for me.
What a class act he is.
