So what did you think (if you watched the show)?
I did like the part where he confronted him with the tiny knife and Walt said “If that’s the way we’re going to go, you’re going to need a much bigger knife”
he was taking about the 80 million he stole from him
they never got to go further with the whole “Todd loves Lydia” part of the plot- I could not see where that was going to lead, and they never really finished that off
we don’t get to see Lydia suffer enough either- she should have been screaming psycho wailing at the end
That’s why this should have been a 2 hour final episode.
The fact that Todd had a "Lydia" song as his ringtone was just evidence what a weird little freak he was. The fact that it was "Lydia the Tattooed Lady" by Groucho Marx was just perfect for the absurdist humor of the show, like Walt posing Skinny Pete and Badger as world-class assassins who would track the rich couple down to Amsterdam or Paris if they didn't do what he said.
I liked that the ending was crammed together and not dragged out. It kept with the hyper pacing of the whole show. Last week was too quiet and slow. This week kept everything slamming along. Even a conversation with Skylar couldn't slow down the pace of this episode.
It gave me an excuse to break format and play it today.
Loved Jesse getting to kill Todd. I felt some affection for almost every character in the show-—even Gus-—but Todd was a psychopath who deserved everything he got.
Last week, creator Vince Gilligan offered a one-word tease about the finale: “woodworking.” Long-time Breaking Bad fans will remember one of Jesse’s more eloquent moments at his addiction support group, when he told a story about building a wooden box in a vocational-tech class – one of the few times he really did apply himself — spending countless hours cutting, sanding and lacquering until it was “perfect.”
After initially claiming that he gave the box to his mother, he walks back the lie a few moments later: “You know, I didn’t give the box to my mom. I traded it for an ounce of weed.” Tragic, but that’s Jesse.
Conan had the BB cast on, and they said the ending was Walt went into witness protection, moved to California, married a woman named Lois, had three sons named Malcolm, Dewey and Francis and his name was Hal! (The plot of the Malcolm In The MIddle series, Hal was played by Bryan Cranston.)

I loved it...I’m just confused as to how Walt got shot, since he was on the ground holding Jesse down as the M-60 shot everybody.

I sure was hoping Jonathan Banks would win the Emmy. He was cheated out of one for Wiseguy and, I think, cheated out of one for BB.

I was reading that Aaron Paul said that Banks should be the one to win an Emmy. The man is a real pro.
The woodworking quote is about Jesse who is stuck cooking but is daydreaming of being free and making a wooden box project with his hands...
I think it was meant to show how messed up in his mind he was by that point, being held captive in chains and forced to cook- he was escaping into his own mind

Yeah, Todd was a classic emotionless sociopath. The kid played it well.
Perfect choice of music for the closing scene as well.

I did too.
Over this entire series, I never saw them say “I love you” to each other, which was sad. (Maybe I just missed it?) And i thought their final scene could have shown a little more emotional attachment, especially since they both knew it was their last goodbye. She knew he was protecting her; I just thought she should have at least thanked him for it.
That vertical beam was probably used in the scene so Walt could “suddenly appear” out of nowhere, but like you said, it was great symbolism.
