Sometimes the man finds the moment. Ted Cruz. Sometimes the moment finds the man. Maybe, we can hope, Boehner has seen something or realized something that causes him to know what most of us here have known since 08. Obama is a Marxist tyrant.Maybe he now knows what he has to do, what his role in the American drama is, and he has accepted it. Not counting on it, given Boehner’s craven past, but willing to have hope for the man. That is not to say I trust him. He must be watched like a hawk, and if he looks ready to fold, conservatives need to put a stop to his speakership.

We can’t stop his leadership before he folds. That is why I posted this.

He is what we have. Now.

Afterwards, if we lose this battle, it won’t matter who the speaker is.

I also have a wife and children. When I get furloughed I apply for unemployment and have no hope of back pay when or if I return. That’s how the real world works. Just as I knew that no job was guaranteed when I applied for it they also knew that shutdowns can happen. Why should they be treated any better than the rest of us?

I'm not a Boehner hater. Conservatives want Boehner to do more, but with a progressive Senate and White House how in the world does that happen?

I'm happy he was able to get the list of things I cited before. And now he's trying to do the right thing on this current impasse.

Thanks for posting your message of support.

I’m going to force myself to go to his Facebook page and give him an attaboy.

Good deal.

Like I said, what can be the worst that could happen?

If he folds, we have even a bigger gripe fest to enjoy!

“Gee, to think I actually said thank you to boner for standing his ground, boy was I a fool”......... So what? Thanking him in an effort to keep him on the straight and narrow is part of the Fight.

If we lose, we lose regardless.

I'd rather lose having tried, than to lose otherwise.

because Bohner is a coward who has let Obama nearly destroy this country already.

I want him out

And in the meantime I want him to fear us more than he fears Obama.

Amen!

He acts like he has been compromised, possibly by the NSA, but no matter, I don't care.

He has proven himself to not be a man of principle, but instead, one who only reacts to pressure and the fear of losing his job.

In other words, he can't be trusted.

Give him encouragement to continue to do the right thing, but don't waste your time believing that he has somehow seen the light, turned over a new leaf, and is somehow magically a new person, he isn't.

I’m not saying they should be treated better. I’m saying if I had a vote to pay them back pay, I would... one, because I’m not a vile heartless pol like Harry Reid, and two, because the media will hammer me relentlessly if I did’t.

You may choose another way if you had that vote.

Thanks for posting your message of support.

Thanks for thanking me. I’m sure this hasn’t made me the most popular person on FR LOL!

Sometimes doing the right thing can cause a bit of discomfort.

Ever tried to change your ways and have those that knew you when keep putting you down? I have. But I also have the benefit of not being in politics or the public eye. I could overcome over time. Boehner only has this one chance.

I hear you and I have been calling Boehner all week with my offer of support and prayers, he is not a good speaker or a good spokesperson, he is not quick on his feet, he may not even be that bright, but he is all we have, and he is trying to do the right thing for now, and for whatever reason, I pray that God send us and him some reinforcements and some victories in our fight for what is good and right... Sunday Blessings, HK

He has to come to the conference with any deal. Are you saying there is no procedure for removing him as speaker if he tries to violate the Hastert rule to get a deal? I’d be researching that right now were I Gohmert.

Did I ever say that he's seen the light or turned over a new leaf or is magically another person?

No.

I said we need him for this fight. That giving our support would help him. I understand he is weak. It is psychological in nature.

Do you all think I've developed sudden love for boehner? No. I'm trying to give him support to follow through for US, for COUNTRY, for FREEDOM.

He certainly has taken his slings and arrows and he's still standing.

I certainly wouldn't want the job.

Thanks again...and have a great day.

Which implies that Boehner can be pressured to be act from a position of principle vs. fear.

So I think you maybe a bit conflicted.

If Boehner thinks it is more politically advantageous to cave to Obama, for his own political security, he will, no amount of being nice to him will help. The only thing this principally challenged politician understands, is fear and pressure.

Keep up the heat on him, and he will toe the line, assume he has some principles that you can play to him, and you lose.

Thanks HK, for reminding me of prayer.

May God provide strength where it is needed to win this battle. Amen.

Thank you conservative98.

I don’t know why, I just feel this is important.

I’ve never been involved in this way. At least, not making a call or stand on an unpopular subject here on FR.

I usually react, rather than act.

Good for you, I’m glad you are putting this out there and taking on the nay sayers.

Your points are very valid and I agree completely.

I’ve been on his twitter all week and giving him props for staying strong. I keep repeating the mantra; hold the line, hold the line, hold the line!!

I choose to stay in the day, I can’t change yesterday.

I'm conflicted? Gee, why don't you offset that by brandishing your holy sword before boehner so that he will fear you, because he is up for reelection.......not.

Good for you. It was hard for me to do too..kinda stuck in my throat before I could actually type it out....lol. I tweeted him that I had been hard on him in the past, but that he was doing the right thing now standing up to Reid and Obama. Then I told him to #holdtheline. I don’t do Facebook, or would go there too.
