Prayers Needed and Requested for petitfour's 13 YRO Son Michael Hit by Car on Way to School

I've now received two urgent FR mails from my good FRiend, petitfour this morning which read, in part:

"We are in ER waiting to hear from doctors. Our 13 year old son was hit by a car on his way to school. He has: Broken leg and head trauma, and that is all we know. Please pray for him and the hospital personnel. Thanks!"

Followed by this update just a few minutes ago:

"We're still in the waiting room. Michael is in ICU in serious but stable condition. They were doing X-rays and other things. His face will require a lot of surgeries. I am as calm as can be and taking this one issue at a time. He is alive and has no brain swelling. We will go from there. He has his daddy’s genes which means he is a fighter."

Dearest, sweet petitfour was reluctant to ask for a prayer thread, given Jim's surgery and all, but praying for one another and our precious family members, is a huge part of Free Republic.

Please pray for petitfour's young son, Michael's complete healing and total recovery and for his loving and very concerned family.

Lord hear our prayers.

Update on the update. No surgery today. The head of the orthopedic trauma team is sticking to the original plan. He wants the best doc in region to do this surgery. Will update when there is more news. Right now Mikey is stable, and that is great! Please keep the prayers coming. There are so many moving parts in this healing process. One thing at a time! Thank you all for your prayers and support!

Thank you! He is not conscious, so no eating. I don’t know when he will be able to eat again because both jaws are broken. Like I said, one thing at a time. We are thankful he is alive and that he has no brain trauma.

Oh dear God, he's NOT conscious!

Mikey's condition is far more serious than I imagined or knew!

God bless him and God bless his wonderful doctors and nurses who are also praying for him and taking such excellent care of him.

Please let us know when his surgeon will be brought in and his surgery will take place. We'll pray extra special that day. I'm so glad they're bring in the best in the region. Praise God!

They are keeping him sedated so the swelling in his face can go down and he will not feel the immense pain. That is a good thing. He needs time and healing and a few surgeries to help along the way. When the say he is in serious condition, they mean it.

It's tough to have to go through such an ordeal. Some times one must remain still and just keep the faith things will work out within HIS perfect will as prayed upon.
