The Redskins Solution

Here is the politically correct solution to the problem of what to call the Washington Redskins. I have heard that dropping the most offensive derogatory term, 'Washington,' would solve the problem. Charles Krauthammer wants to just call them the Washington Skins. George Will sides with history and says it should remain The Washington Redskins.

It doesn't matter that most of the Indian nations have no problem with the terminology. All it takes is for one Indian to be offended for the PC Stasi to beat the war drums.

I hold that the city of Washington has evolved, and it is only proper to take the 'skin' out of Redskins and just call them what they are -

The Washington Reds.

Just hope Putin doesn't take offense.

The conservative case:

Naming a professional sports franchise after somebody is an honor worthy of Ronald Reagan because of his great accomplishments, including, but not limited to:

• Helped bring about the collapse of the Soviet Union.
• Ousted the Jimmy Carter Administration.
• Restored United States military dominance and prestige.
• Restored the American economy to a globally dominant position.

The liberal case:

Naming a professional sports franchise after a person is a horrendous and dishonorable insult to their legacy, a fate Ronald Reagan deserves because of the horrible things he did, including, but not limited to:

• Helped bring about the collapse of the Soviet Union.
• Ousted the Jimmy Carter Administration.
• Restored United States military dominance and prestige.
• Restored the American economy to a globally dominant position.

A city named after a great president deserves a football team named after a great president.

Now I notice that there is a traveling rugby team from New Zealand going to be playing some games in the US soon - called the “Maori All Blacks” - apparently to belong you must have some blood relationship to the Maori tribe in NZ, which is sort of exclusionary and maybe racist in itself, but even of more concern is this “All Blacks” thingy, which although it apparently applies to the color of their shirts, still must be offensive to somebody or other somewhere in the country - we need an investigation by at least Holder and Sharpton......

In view of the above, names should no longer be used for sport teams in the USA, just numbers (except "odd" numbers, which are racist).
