‘Tis the season to be gluttonous, so Frito-Lay is rolling out milk chocolate-covered “wavy” potato chips.

The limited-edition $3.49 5-ounce bags will be shipped to Target stores starting today and will be on sale throughout the holiday season, a Frito-Lay spokesperson tells TIME. If consumers like them, the company will evaluate whether to make them permanent.

While chocolate-covered pretzels are a familiar sight, USA Today also cites the trend of sweet and salty potato chip flavors that have been on the market like Kettle’s maple-bacon or sweet ‘n’ salty Bugles flavors, like caramel and chocolate peanut butter.

Mom always had to tell me:

*You can't leave the table until you've eaten all your potato chips.*

sure it’s done - all the time. In fact most of my relatives eat watermelon with salt, and some (myself on occasion) apple pie with cheese..... there are all sorts of culinary adventures that await... just open your gullet ... I mean mind... ;)

You don't mix salty with milky/creamy, or salty with sweet. It simply is not done.

I dunno, the chocolate/caramel/sea salt craze has been going strong for around five years now. With the right chocolate, the sweet & salty mix is a winner.

Nothing new to the residents of southern Ohio; chocolate covered chips have been around during the holidays for several years now.
I can do without the chips, but we Buckeyes know Esther Price dark chocolates are the gold standard in chocolate candies. Godiva is second rate to those of us raise on Price’s chocolates.
