“Period” was meant to be “Unless” followed by the list of reasons you couldn’t keep it. Teleprompter malfunction on multiple occasions caused this mis-statement to be repeated. Obama will hunt down and imprison that teleprompter transcriber who left out this important information.

I was referring to Rush Limbaugh’s old impression of Jim Wright, to the effect that he, Speaker Wright, only wanted to help President Reagan. Rush translated “help” in a somewhat more...earthy...manner.
