"A pair of burglars in Southern California got more than they bargained for when they broke into the home of a champion tomahawk thrower this weekend.

The woman armed herself with one of her special throwing axes and chased off the intruders.

She said she could have killed them had she loosed her deadly weapons, but she could not bring herself to injure the fleeing burglars.

True enough. Appreciate the ping, Ramius

I’ve tossed both axes and tomahawks with varying degrees of accuracy and success but neither of which looked like the one in the picture. hmm. ‘course I’ve got a couple old axes like hers.

As far as throwing an ax, remember, once you’ve thrown it, if you didn’t get them, they had your ax and you better have another, or a big knife.

We used to throw our double-bitted cruiser axes at tree rounds. The forestry students at NAU in AZ used to have an event at their conclaves. Maybe they still do.

The ‘hawk throw is still part of our rendezvous skill set. Busted more than one handle tossing them.

...19. Let the enemy come till he’s almost close enough to touch, then let him have it and jump out and finish him up with your hatchet. — Robert Rogers’ Standing Orders (found in the US Army Rangers Handbook).

While the simple tomahawk is a fine weapon, oddly enough, tomahawk technology has kept up with the times. There are today tomahawks that are both multi-tool and would be downright frightening in a fight.

For example, the Innovation Factory Handy Rescue Multi-tool.

That was a brutal scene — no wonder those kids cried.

He found the man hiding behind a bush near Ms Irvine's trailer.

He had a bag full of items, including possessions with Ms Irvine's name on them.

Tomahawk Lady, meet Dumber-Than-a-Bag-of-Hammers. Get this manly man a pink jumpsuit and sashay him into the county lockup.

But then some prosecutors frown upon injuring a fleeing perp.
