On International Men's Day, HHS tells women to 'calm down'

Apparently, the key to marital happiness is getting the woman to "calm down," according to the Department of Health and Human Services.
"[A] study of hot marital fights indicates that when the wife calms down, the couples are more happy," HHS Healthbeat's Ira Dreyfuss said. "Happiness didn't change if the husband calmed down quickly."
Unfortunately, HHS made no comment about whether it's a good or bad idea to tell a woman to calm down when she's mad at you.

Having been married three times, I'm somewhat of an expert on this subject.
Telling an angry woman to calm down is a good way to wake up in the hospital.
The best bet is to leave for a couple of years and see if she calms down on her own.

Yes, women want get back the same level of emotional intensity that they’re putting out, to show you really care.I don't. My husband is my anchor. I respect him for that. If he lost it every time I lost it, what have we accomplished? I know he loves me enough to weather my rare bout of insanity with grace, dignity, and humor. Of course, things are a whole lot calmer around our place now that we're done with menopause. :-)
