If congress can exempt their staffers and it appears that they can, what's to stop a conservative senator or congressman from making everyone in his district unpaid "staffers", thereby allowing but not forcing them to be exempt from the abomination called obamacare?

Because they’re only exempted until the Sheeple demand single-payer because “ObamaCare ain’t free enough” and then those Congressional staffers (along with all the other “exempted” special interest groups) will go to the head of the line and leave the rest of us begging like dogs for the scraps of what was once a great healthcare system.

Any congressman who did that would instantly have thousands of astro-turf protestors “spontaneously” showing up around every one of their district offices. Crying, screaming, dripping body fluids for the camera.

“Congressman X wants to kill my child.” “Congressman X wants me to go to the back of the bus.” “I’m a human being too, Congressman X!”

On and on and on.

It is time for a new, free nation to rise from the ashes of this now failing republic. Are there patriots available to lead? Are there citizens willing to sacrifice?

They are not exempted,,,they are exempt from having to use the exchanges,,,not from the law...

So? That’s a much smaller price than earlier patriots were subject to.

And paying this price is going to help our side how, exactly?

The real question is: is anyone willing to do what must be done and to bear the scorn of history for a half-century until everything settles out again? Our republic cannot exist with people who don’t work having a say in our elections. The failure of the republic can be averted by fixing that one flaw.

Posing a question. You do not have to act like a liberal.

Be more specific. What do you propose? What are the citizens expected to sacrifice?

What prevents any citizen from declaring themselves and their dependents exempt?

When it comes to sacrifice, I would prefer to sacrifice my political opponents on the altar of Virtue.

“Are there citizens willing to sacrifice?”

I am willing to sacrifice, I will never sign up for socialized medicine even if it kills me but I would rather die fighting for what’s left of my Republic!

It sounds like a good idea. And that’s why not one congress person has the guts to try it. Even Cruz wouldn’t do that.

Some years back I refused to complete the medical sheet in the Dentist’s office. I wrote across it that it was the same as last year. That was not good enough and the clerk summoned the Dentist (probably to intimidate me) who proceeded to tell me I had to complete a new form. I told him that I wasn’t gonna do it and I guess he wished to not be my dentist. Then I said, I choose Freedom and walked out of his office. This was all done in the waiting area and I hoped others heard it.

My point, not so funny that, now we are where that form was pushing me.
