I worked with a guy from Northern Ireland who talked that way, but it’s more an ethnic characteristic & not nearly as annoying.

That aspirated speech pattern where the last few words are stretched out and “breathed” more than spoken is really irritating, especially from contemporaries nearing retirement too...

I have thought about this, and i do not think always ending sentence with rise in pitch is not a “valley girl” thing, but a liberal thing, as this is an attempt to avoid anything that sounds reproving, negative, and contentious. Kind of like grade inflation,Must not damage egos.
