They don’t define “century,” but I think it means the last 14 years.

Still, some great photos of the Superbowl stadium. Lots of luck cleaning the snow off of all those seats!

note: “coldest of the century” is very different from “coldest in a century”

Thank God for this cold weather.
My AC is broken. Saving up to fix it.

73deg 47%H is perfect outside.

Hey algore, that’s what it should always be. Can we make it so? Seems like you think we can alter the weather and all....

Even the Brits fall down before the global warming Gods.

This should have been titled, “Coldest Winter in a century!”

http://www.foxnews.com/weather/2014/01/08/polar-vortex-spreads-into-eastern-southern-us/

“The so-called “polar vortex” of dense, frigid air blamed for at least 21 cold-related deaths across the country spread to the East and the Deep South on Tuesday, shattering records that in some cases had stood for more than a century.”

excerpt go to the link below for full story re coldest weather in lets say, “A hundred years”:

First Super Bowl to be played in an open air stadium? Really? Huh, I did not know that. (Sarcasm)

So that’s not true? I didn’t think so, I would have thought all the early ones were played in open stadiums. What was the first covered stadium? Was it the Superdome?

The Super Bowl has frequently been played on open air fields. Examples: Rose Bowl, Orange Bowl and numerous stadia in various warm locations around the country — Miami, Dallas. Phoenix etc.

They only avoid playing in the open air where there is true winter. Such as New Jersey where they have scheduled next week, next year Green Bay!!

I have a feeling that the guys in Green Bay are used to it. New Jersey, less so.

One of the links at Drudge says that seat prices are dropping.

Very first Super Bowl was in the LA Coliseum. Not a domed stadium! First game under a roof was 1978 at the Superdome.

Remember watching that game on a small b&w tv set in the frat house basement.
IIRC it wasn’t a sellout either, and the hype factor was probably about 0.1% of the current.

We oldtimers used to have another name for this. We used to call it, February.
