Like many zoos, they have a planned breeding program, as the captive giraffe herds in the world’s zoos were becoming incredibly inbred. To try to combat this issue, they went to a strict breeding program around the world, transferring animals and sperm to restore biological diversity to the herds.
Most zoos aren’t as public with their culling as the Danes are, but ‘unauthorized’ animals are killed all the time around the world.

Agree. Seems like a Hell of a way to deal with a surplus giraffe.
Have you ever heard stray cats having sex? It’s not a happy sound, it’s actually sort of creepy. But to a cat it’s something completely different.

Depends who the predators are? Take bullying. It happens, it’s natural. Libs put in laws that now turn the prey into the predator. See how well that is working out, The unintended consequence being “everyone” suffers except the new bullies.

It’s one of those “Circle of Life” kind of things.
It’s likely that with certain animals, there isn’t a lot of varied DNA, in zoos world wide.

I would never want a horse treated like that. Some of my best friends who got me out of real danger were in fact horses. That said, I don’t see the problem with eating a horse if as the last resort.

Bullying is certainly not natural. Typical schooling is totally unnatural, however. Bullying destroys lives, creates more problems than curbing it will, leaves behind a debris of emotionally-damaged individuals who go on to cause other problems as a result, perpetuating the disease.
I am all in favour of schools heavily coming down on bullies, even to the extent of chemical-psychiatric “management” of proven violent kids, to protect the other kids from harm.

Couldn't get someone to take it, better to kill it and feed to the lions, then have the lions handle the whole process in front of the kiddies.
