In yet another infringement on the Constitution, Obama is crossing the line with his gun-control policies.
Though his ambitious gun control agenda of 2013 is considered to be dead on Capitol Hill, President Obama is ceaseless in his flagrant abuse of the 2nd Amendment. Obama promises gun control “with or without Congress.”
Despite resistance, Obama has expressed renewed support for his legislative agenda of gun prohibition. Including, among other sweeping legislative reforms, a controversial ban on high-capacity ammunition magazines and a strict ban on assault weapons. As well as costly universal background checks for gun purchasers.
Many on Capitol Hill, such as Senator Snowe, have expressed the need “to pass legislation that respects states’ rights, while recognizing an individual’s 2nd Amendment right.” As a proud conservative, her gun advocacy can be seen in the many bills she has promoted defending our right.
Weapons legislation often divides politicians and people. Many say that current federal gun control policies have resulted in no change for the criminal element, while secretly working to disarm every citizen. Thomas Jefferson famously included in his Legal Commonplace Book, "Laws that forbid the carrying of arms…disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes."
