Many of us grew up with this series in high school. It was enlightening and provided a new perspective for our generation brought up on Star Wars. But that was before we’d seen science coopted by progressive asswipes.

To use this as some kind of new climate change pitch smacks of desperation.

"In an unusual turn of events, the new reboot of Carl Sagan's 'Cosmos' program was cancelled after only one episode. Producers were reluctant to offer explanations, but Neilson ratings indicated a precipitous drop in viewership after only five minutes of the series' premier."

The makers of this show call us “squirrel eating reactionary homophobes”.

They can kiss my butt, there’s plenty of other good science stuff on TV.

One FB commenter thought that “conservatives” would tune out if the Big Bang was referenced. Guess that person didn’t know that said theory was conceived by a priest?

Came out in 2005, starring Ving Rhames. Not sure if it even made one season before being canceled; apparently lasted ten episodes.

They are now trying to make a Kojak movie with Vin Diesel in the title role.

Yup, a Vatican astronomer I believe.

These people need to understand that a good many Christians are major science geeks and going out of their way to insult us is bad for business. Michio Kaku is one of my favorites because he doesn't go looking for a way to insult Christians. In fact he points out that the big bang theory is saying almost exactly the same thing as Christian creation beliefs.

Yeah I know the producers and Sagan were pretty squirrely. But when I was 15 I thought this series was pretty cool and it still is in many ways.
