Press Alt-PrtScrn to capture the window to the clipboard, then open an imaging program like pbrush or IrfanView and press Ctrl-V to paste the clipboard image into the imaging program.

Using Windows, you could use “snipping tool”.

Using a Mac, press Command+up arrow+3 or Command+up arrow+4.

I want to copy a facebook page for future use and would like to save everything I can get over the course of at least a year. I thought there was a function to take a “snap shot” but can’t find it. Thanks in advance for any help.

Windows 7 has a Snipping tool which will allow you to capture screens and portions of screens. Type Snipping in the search field and it will be the top result.

This works on my soon-to-be-retired Windows XP:

1. Hit the keyboard's Print Screen button (it's on the upper right of the keyboard). This will take a picture of whatever’s on your monitor now.
2. Open a new Bitmap Image on your desktop (right mouse click, then choose New)
3. Open the new Bitmap Image.
4. Right mouse click, then choose Edit.
5. Under Edit in the menu, choose Paste. The page from Step 1 will appear. Save it.

To just save an image of the page, use the print-screen methods the other posters mentioned. Otherwise, you can save a copy of the page itself, including the html and other documents; for example, in FF if you go to File>Save Page As ... you’ll have the option to save the page as “Web Page, complete”. However, keep in mind that doing so might not actually save everything - a lot of webpages like facebook now use javascript to pull content down from the server and put it into the page and just saving the page as a complete webpage won’t save the data that the javascript pulls down from the server after the script itself has been loaded.

An addition to my post #9. To clean up your saved page a little, go to the Bitmap menu and uncheck anything that's checked under View.

Windows 7:

When you see what you want on the screen, press the keyboard “PrtSc” (print screen) key. This captures the screen image to memory.

Press the Start button in the lower left of your screen and type: “mspaint”. This will open the paint program.

On the keyboard, hold down the “Ctrl” key and press “v”. This will copy the image into the Paint program.

Now you can crop, resize, save or whatever you will.

Thanks, all, I think I got the “meat” of it without pictures but it will work. Campaigns are coming up and I found some “juicy” stuff. Will see how it works out, thanks again.

HP Smart print allows you to highlight a specific article on Facebook including pictures. It is free and doesn’t require an HP printer to use.

I installed it on my wife’s computer to print recipes and it works great for that. You should be able to print to a .pdf or .xmp to create a digital copy.

Greenshot is the best. With Greenshot you have the option of capturing the entire page, not only what can be seen on-screen. It is a free download. I use it daily and would pay for it before I gave it up.
