I will be celebrating the birth of a Grandchild, Going to Colorado for my Son's Graduation, County Fairs and The Iowa State Fair!
to shed, then burn my winter coat.
Having my left knee replaced on 5/27, then my right after I recover.
I’m going to continue to train our horses, bale a LOT of hay,cut brush, spend a bunch of time at the range, and continue to pray that our national nightmare comes to an end.
Things are looking good for taking my son’s BSA troop on a river trip. No I’m not telling you which river, go find your own river.
Looking for a quiet summer this year. Last summer was very busy with grandnephew’s birth, nephew’s wedding and my son’s wedding all in a row.
I need shoulder surgery to repair a torn rotator cuff. Going to the Indy 500, a few Reds and Cubs games. Mrs. henkster & I will probably go to Houston to visit her family (and do some shooting).
Our second son is between his junior and senior year, and if he lands an internship in his field, we are going to officially be empty nesters as he is not likely to live any signifcant time at our house again.
I’m just hoping to be able to walk and drive again soon! No, not that serious; broken ankle. Sucks.
Oh I forget take REALLY good care of my 2 new Bee Hives(Italians picking them up on the 11th). I MAY enter some Honey at the Iowa State Fair.
I’m going to enjoy the gift of warmth that doesn’t cost me anything to produce. I’m for sure going to enjoy that big inland sea called “lake” Michigan that I didn’t even bother to go to last summer.
Mr Palin is that YOU?!
Avoid the Fair on “Beat Whitey Night”.
We will probably climb a 14teener or two. If you have time while in Colorado, drive to the top of Mt. Evans. The highest paved road in America. It is fun to watch the kids turn blue at 14,250 MSL.
Best vacation I ever had was last year. Two week road trip with my 11YO son, drove to Vegas via Southern Utah. Horeseback riding near Bryce Canyon and in Monument Valley, canyoneering/rappelling near Zion NP. The rest of the family joined us in Vegas for a few days. Before splitting up, we enjoyed the Standing on a Corner Park in Winslow, AZ. Drove home via Sedona and Tombstone, last stop was Roswell.
visit beautiful Zhuhai and work some serious overtime.
With any luck, maybe a little sailing.
Keep looking for a job. Hopefully..find one.
Nothing final yet, but I have crossed off Yellowstone.
A big vegetable garden and as many car shows as I can attend.
Get a dental implant and if possible go to the MVPA convention/ show in Louisville. If Kentucky doesn’t happen then is the ragged old Willys jeep, the questionable CJ7 project and a ragged 77 blazer to play with. Also go and try to make stock photo and video that I make a few bucks on sometimes.
Hopefully purchasea new house, fix up the old one and sell it off! Mix in camping trips to various locations of the interior of Alaska, and it will be winter in no time again!
Going to the big Mouse House in the middle of Florida. I know, I know. But, I have a six-year old and his joy overrides political boycotts.
Getting up, then looking for a job, then hanging out in front of the drugstore.
Will have my daughter and her family home for a month. They are supposed to be moving from Istanbul to Moscow and will stop in for a nice visit.
I will be celebrating the high school graduation of my younger daughter. A group of about a dozen of us will be enjoying an all-inclusive vacation to Riviera Maya in June.
In August we’ll be attending the annual River Regatta in the Laughlin/Bullhead City area.
Heading to Cabo in mid May to celebrate me and my best friend’s 50th b-day (we’ve been friends since kindergarten) and my sister’s 60th. First vacation in 2 years so it is needed badly.
Other than that, minor league and college baseball, golf, landscaping and seeing Larry the Cable Guy in a couple weeks.
Marrying off daughter number 1 to a fine young man.
Masters next week. Colorado skiing and golfing the next week. Multiple Bahamas trips for work. Maybe a golf trip to Ireland this summer with my son. Divorce is final, life is good.
Job-hunting (and hopefully landing a full-time position), lots of gardening, and volunteering at a local hospital a few times a month.
Celebrating my daughter’s 18th birthday and the end of her child support. YEAH!!
Also completing the brake system and suspension of my Porsche restoration. The $700 a month I won’t have to pay for my daughter’s child support will help this effort greatly.
Because you've seen it or it's about to blow?
Caribbean in May and a class reunion in June.
House goes up for sale next week. Youngest graduates HS in June and heads off to college in August. Move to Tennessee in the fall to live on the lake.
As with some others here, divorce final. Sort of sad but had to happen. So: Key West in May, fly-fishing school in June,European river cruise in August. Life is good ( but worrying about USA all the while)
My family just got back from Six Flags over Dallas and now have season passes, so we plan to visit many more parks this summer.
My ‘02 Carerra is up for sale.
If it sells, I’ll spend a little time looking for another toy.
Move to our mountain retreat, get some fancy chickens that lay extra large eggs and put in some raised bed gardens. Oh yeh and pray for the Republic. :-)
John, is that you???
chickens that lay extra large eggs
Egg size relates to the age of a chix; older birds produce bigger eggs.
Some chickens lay larger eggs than others. The Swedish Flower Hen (which I’m getting) lays an extra large or jumbo egg when they mature. All pullets lay smaller egss for a short period before they reach full maturity but different breeds lay different sizes.
Well.... since I just started my new job at a “big box” store (yay me!)I will be working my tush off (literally) in hopes that at the end of May, I will be among those kept on as a “regular” employee and not “seasonal”. As for the summer - I hope to get to spend some time at the beach with my hubby in between shifts at work :) I’m just so thankful to be working, I don’t really care if we don’t do anything “interesting” just so long as the bills are paid and everybody remains healthy.
Waiting for Obama to pull the plug on the banking system, and wondering which city he will nuke and blame the Republicans and the Tea Party.
GOD will this reign of terror ever end???
We are in the process of buying a different boat. Trips to Catalina and lots of fishing this summer!
Hope to stay employed, and other than that try to move up to AA class in Sporting Clays.
Well, not exactly Summer but my daughter was invited to perform at the Key West Songwriters Festival. I’ll be enjoying some of the best music around from her and others including Sara Evans. Might do some fishing while there, too.
