I think a cop lives in one of these townhouses, plus their cop shop isn't far from me, plus the lady across the street, a banker (not a clerk), is divorced from one and their son lives with her so cop would be here in a second to defend the kid.

Here's a story - elderly woman lives in townhouse next to me. She is a short lady. One evening, the fire truck is in front of her house, again right next door to me. I go out there and there are a couple of neighbors who also came out, and there is the lady who says she is okay.

Her nephew is a fire fighter, was on duty and little old lady called him that her battery in fire detector was low and it was sounding and she couldn't reach it to turn it off. He drove the fire truck over here just to get her fire alarm off the wall and turn it off. Really, how much did it cost to drive a fire truck over here even if it is just a few miles away? He could have used a bicycle.

We have lots of little old ladies here and they know every person and their cars. Those old ladies are better than detectives to know what's going on in here.

An elderly couple live across from me and they hadn't seen me in several days coming and going so the lady came and banged on my door at dark and I didn't open the door. So, the husband called the phone and I answered and went to the door then. They were making sure I was okay. The lady said they watch out for me since my husband died. I had no idea they were doing that.

Glad your plants weren’t damaged. I am still working on tax stuff. I am just going to file for an extension. It takes forever to sort through hubby’s business stuff.

I am still sorting and organizing stuff. It won’t take long to file the extension forms after I get finished sorting. I use tax software that includes small business stuff.

I always did our taxes. Then, we bought several rent houses and husband got tax guy to do the part of taxes about those houses. I had to get the stuff together and take it to him but I did the work on them I could do. So, I take the stuff in and he’s looking over my work and says I can’t do “x” about those houses. I said, “Yes, I can.” He said he needed to talk to his associates so he took my work to them and came back and said, “Yes, you can.” Of course I could, I knew what I was doing. He was better at depreciation stuff than I was, so I needed him for that and anything I might miss.

Every year when husband would sign the forms that I prepared, he asked me if he was going to jail. I said he might, but I was just a dumb blond wife so they would let me off. He and I had great fun together.

That’s a good reply! Hubby never asks that question, he just signs and asks how much more did we have to pay? I have a little extra taken out of the retirement checks, but I refuse to estimate and send in money for his business.

So, we always have a significant size check we have to send in. I had a corporate and individual tax class in college as part of my accounting block, back when I was planning on taking the CPA exam.

After I started to work for the bank, they had another certificate that they wanted me to do, so I did that test instead.

I really hate doing taxes, but the software makes it much easier. You do lose a little of your knowledge of the tax law though, because it’s all repsonse to questions, so that the average taxpayer doesn’t have to know zip about the tax law, or why things are done a certain way.

New forecast just came in. Now, it's 37 tomorrow night and 34 (gasp!) Tuesday night. Plus, 60% chance of rain tomorrow and 30% chance of "thunderstorms" tonight. I really have to cover plants tomorrow evening so which of you is coming to help me - volunteer here:

why do you have to cover them? 32 is freezing, so they should be fine without cover. Don’t be raising no sissy plants now.LOL

I covered plants every time it was cold and still the cucumbers wilted and died and the four tomatoes have had stunted growth since then. Bunching onions in grow bags on deck were also wilted and some managed to survive. I don’t want these plants cold and I lose them. I’d stay out there all night and blow warm air on them before I’d let the cold get these. The greater part of my life since I started this is on that deck and in the net room. Have I ever said I am a determined rock when faced with a problem?

Well the cukes and tomatoes I can understand I guess, but onions? Well, whatever. A gal’s gotta do what a gal’s gotta do to relax and not worry about her babies.

Tell you one thing - if you and I were together and the SHTF, we would kick butt and come through that just swell. Where exactly do you live as how do you get there? Don’t give me the exact addresses on here but how do I get to that area? I might just take it on myself to get there just so we could hang out together for a couple of days.

See, there are four kinds of bunching onions. I want to know which does best so I can just use that one after this summer. If cold gets them, I won’t know which is best. It’s the same with cukes, have numerous kinds out there. And, it’s the same with tomatoes - like eight different kinds.

“I can be there Friday. Unless I forget.”

First of all, you probably don't have a social security number but I just threw that in due to working on income tax and being ID’d by my social security number. AND, you know Friday is too late and the blankets would all be off by then. If would be fun to have you here so you could see how I live in my country. You are also able bodied almost, and I could use you as slave labor.

75 miles southwest of St. Louis. When you are really ready to come give me a heads up by freep mail and I’ll give you some directions. I need a couple of days warning to clear a path we have lots of unintentional “traps” that sometimes interfere with approaches to the door.

I was wondering where you were as you weren’t chiming in on these conservations. It worries me when you aren’t around, I think something may be wrong with you.

Are you going to protect your plants in any way?

Of course I have a SS#. Everyone has one. I hear the President has several.

You can't serve in the military without that 10 digit number.

My townhouse is small and the inside area next to the back glass door on both sides is filled with plant stuff and prepping stuff. I have to clean those areas up and move a lot of it upstairs into a room I am using for stuff I can’t put anywhere else. I have to live in this downstairs and living creates “stuff” here and there. I can’t have everything put exactly up because I’m using stuff every day. I get it when you say “days warning to clear a path”. Everything I have that is not put somewhere is expensive stuff and not trash so if someone doesn’t like it, they can leave. I need a bigger place. I think you at least have a large house. If I had a basement, I would be in heaven.

I haven’t told you I lived in St. Louis for a year when I married my husband. He was vice-president of an insurance company and they had sent him to St. Louis to clean up their medical insurance department - lots of problems needed to be fixed. I married him when he was living there and went there for that year until we came back to Texas. I’m trying to think of the area but it was west out of St. Louis within car distance of the city, was an upscale living area. His office was in St. Louis. I had problems with people living there as they thought I talked funny. I told them, “No, you talk funny.”

Which of your fake numbers did you use? Our president uses one issued to a fellow in Mass. I think it was, and that fellow was dead so he didn’t need it any more and Hussein needed one so took that one.

So your number has 10 digits? Hmmm, mine has nine and I think everyone has nine. Hmm, 10?
