Co-pilot of MH370 tried to make a call from his mobile phone AFTER the aircraft 'vanished'...

but he 'was abruptly cut off'

The co-pilot of missing flight MH370 made a call from his mobile phone as the aircraft flew low over the west coast of Malaysia.

Investigators have learned that the call was made from Fariq Abdul Hamid's mobile phone as the Boeing 777 flew low near the island of Penang, on the north of Malaysia's west coast.

The New Straits Times reported today that it was understood the aircraft, with 239 people on board, was flying low enough for the nearest telecommunications tower to pick up Fariq's signal.

The call ended abrupty, however it has been learned that contact was definitely established with a telecommunications sub-station in Penang state.

The paper said it had been unable to ascertain who Fariq was trying to call 'as sources chose not to divulge details of the investigation.'

It added: 'The telco's (telecommunications company's) tower established the call that he was trying to make. 'On why the call was cut off, it was likely because the aircraft was fast moving away from the tower and had not come under the coverage of the next one,' the paper said, quoting 'sources'....

The dramatic revelation that Fariq tried to make a phone call after regular communication from the aircraft to ground control was lost opens up a new field of speculation - and more questions about the mysterious disappearance of the jet.

If Fariq was able to make a call, why was there no attempt by the pilot, Captain Zaharie Ahmad Shah, 53, to also make a mobile phone call?...

Anwar’s not in prison? What’s his status? Is he awaiting trial (or retrial as his acquittal was overturned)?

If the plane is in the Indian Ocean, I think it’s the pilot, for whatever reason, and I think he was up to his neck in politics, perhaps also upset over his wife/mistress situation as well (nothing to lose mentality). I’m still not convinced that’s where the plane ended up. Not from Missouri, but I’m of the “show me” persuasion these days where MH370 is concerned.

Just last week they suggested there may be survivors. “Miracles happen”.

His acquittal was overturned on appeal but he has not been resentenced yet and may not be — so I don’t know where they get all this stuff about negotiating his release.

In the meantime he has been very vocal about the incompetence of the Malaysian government in this matter — a matter that puts his cousin right in the cockpit of a hijacking.

Anyone who has to fly Malaysian airlines for their job should quit the job. These lying incompetents should not be in charge of anything bigger than a taxi.

Do they? Or is it policy to leave the keys in the cabin with the thought that a passenger is more likely to be a hijacker rather than the other pilot? And is that really done even if it is policy? I could understand the airlines being silent about that.

I think this is just an excuse to look around underwater for all those guns lost in boating accidents.

Fuel usage depends on altitude and speed. If they were flying low and fast, they would not have gotten 2600 miles.

As soon as they put the witch doctors on the case, I knew they would solve it soon.

Is it possible that the current government is afraid of Anwar and his coalition and for that reason are trying to pin this on anyone or anything but his cousin in the cockpit.

Maybe part of this is internal political extortion — give in to our demands to share power or what we did here can and will be done again — we made a whole airplane disappear and made you look like fools and will do it again.

Is that why they are eliminating every other possibility before they finally center in on Captain Shah???

How about low and slow —

I’m assuming the same altitude used to calculate the red and yellow lines in this graph, but a slower speed obviously as the flight path bends east:

Low enough and slow enough to hit the point where the 811 arc crosses the S20 Parallel — right where they are looking now.

bring him in for questioning and let the FBI do it.

Who would trust our FBI to question anyone. Didn't they shoot Tsarnov's friend six times when they questioned him in his own living room?

Your theory makes sense and is plausible.

My only question is:

Where is the debris?

You can bet that by this time, every square inch of the Indian ocean has been mapped by satellites.

If that plane went into the ocean, it would have created a huge debris field. Either tenders were brought in in the earliest days and cleaned up the debris field, or the plane never went down in the ocean.

I would hate to think it was the former as it would bespeak of a conspiracy so massive as to be worrisome. If the latter, any answers will not be pretty.
