I hate that the Wild is making me cheer for Chicago and hate that the series isn’t over yet. I am having a love/hate relationship with the play-offs. I want Boston and Pittsburgh out.

Also, I am getting fed up with Crosby’s dirty little plays that the refs ignore. He doesn’t have to do that. He’s far too skilled but he does it anyway.

Seems the refs are letting a lot of things go that should be called.

And then the announcers brush it off as “good old fashioned hockey”.

And Bettman is nowhere to be found.

LOL on the “optional skate” – it seems that when the Pens play well they look like a well-oiled machine, but when they s/t/b, oh boy… After finally getting some dedicated PP time at the end of the second Period with the 5 on 3 but then not being able to cash in, you could tell they were toast for the night.

Also looking for Montreal to do well tonight; doesn’t really matter here who from the East gets in except for ~Boston. Nothing against Chicago per se, but in the interests of fresh blood & longer competitive Series, somebody else from the West would be preferred.

Isn’t that how it works? The team that can’t score on a 5-on-3 is destined to lose. I’ve only seen it not end that way once.

I drive from LA to OC a lot. There is a billboard that on the south going side cheers the kings and the north going side cheers the ducks. I’ve seen it since the series began but only yesterday noticed the Kings one, seen by all going down into ducks territory! It’s a dog holding a dead duck in its mouth! Funny.

I was ok with the ducks winning the last game but tonight, go kings go!

It’s a strange world where LA has no football teams, but they have two hockey teams.

Sorry to go against you RE a team that “dun ya’ wrong” by pulling for Minnesota this series ;-) Despite Patrick Kane’s hometown ties —it *was* cool seeing the Stanley Cup right here last Summer— I’m rooting for Pominville to do well after so many years of disappointment with the Sabres, and generally it’s good for the game to spread the wealth around, so to speak.

I too am getting tired of the unnecessary chippiness & gratuitous contact not being called, on ALL sides...

I prefer hockey to football. But it is strange, indeed. Of all places.

It’s the owner and their D man that betrayed my team. Leopold does not deserve a cup for what he did to this town. I do like some of their players but not Suter.

Oh, that team had such a great year. It would have been nice to win that series. But as you can see from the games, we were consistently outskated / out handled. We had occasional strokes of absolute brilliance but next year we need it more consistent throughout defense and offense. Heartbreaking but now we have the scrappy kings coming up from behind. Also fun to watch.

Wheels coming off for the Canadiens in this one, down 3-0, 13 minutes remaining in the 2nd period.

Right now Montreal is getting stomped by Boston. There’s still time to turn it around. Go Habs!

I agree about some fresh blood in the Stanley Cup final. I was hoping for St. Louis to make it and now I’m cheering for the Wild. Problem is Chicago is a really well built team with their best players set up to play with complementary skill. Quick in LA is getting into form. To my eyes the best teams right now have been in the final recently.

A deflection off the Bruins' Reilly Smith goes five-hole through G Carey Price on the man-advantage early in the 2nd Period,
then 32 seconds later on another PP, Jerome Iginla puts the puck past the goalie as Boston surges to a 3-0 lead over Montreal.
A late power play goal by the Canadiens' Brendan Gallagher has the score at 3-1 for the home team at the second Intermission.

From what I’ve seen the Bruins have been the favorite in the East and maybe for the whole NHL.

Still, we have a game 6 remaining and I’d wager, it will be pushed to 7. Canadiens have not looked too crisp today and as said, the Bruins have had a very good year.

Montreal definitely needs to make adjustments and still hung in this game, despite the score line, imho.

F Louis Erickson slides a rebound past a prone Carey Price for the 4th goal for Boston, serving as the exclamation point
as the Bruins take command of the Series with a 4-2 victory over Montreal, forcing an elimination Game 6 in Quebec.

This will be a whale of a series, cross-town series if the Ducks win their 2 away games to even up the series after the Kings won the 2 at Anaheim. I have to admire the tenacity of the Ducks to come back.
