I love my Keurig, but I prefer my oats without artificial stuff.
I work at Macys. These things are big sellers. I prefer to brew my own coffee, personally. And I have yet to taste anything that tops my own oatmeal recipe.
I make oatmeal in the microwave. It is delicious. Add water, zap for 90 seconds. Add milk and a small amount if butter and zap for 90 more seconds. Add honey, blueberries, coconut and a little granola, stir and enjoy.
I know it’s just personal preference, like any other product. I’m just accustomed to the plain old House Blends from the gas stations and truck stops.
Save those used K-Cups. They make great seed starters............especially with the grounds still in them................
If you drink lots of coffee and tea like we do, Green Mountain’s Café Express Club is a very good deal. Three dollars off per box of 24 K-cups and free shipping off every order of four or more boxes. You can set the frequency of your shipment and modify the order at anytime. We use that feature to switch from hot teas to brew over iced tea, for instance.
Been using my Mr. Coffee to make oatmeal for years. Just add water, oats in the carafe, and run a cycle. Great for camping when you have electricity, but, no room for a microwave.
You can heat soup up that way too. Put the can in the carafe and run a cycle.
I had grits and a poached egg for breakfast.
You make the grits in a small saucepan, then when they are almost done, just crack the egg into the middle of them. Add cheese topping and voila! .................
Looks like it would stop it up....................;^)
Will they be coming out with a Keurig that automatically disposes the spent cartridges so that I don't have to deal with them? Having to remove the old one and insert a new one each time is really becoming a pain.
Excuse me? You're asking for a semiautomatic assault Keurig?
Gevalia now has k cops. Very good.
I do this for my tea and cup-o-soups. Works great!
Cool re-purpose idea on the K-cup!!
Good idea. We'll give it a try.
I grind my beans when brewing cups of coffee, but my Keurig makes coffee as well or better than anything I can brew. You just have to look for the right K-cup. Some are utterly flavorless.
If you have a Keurig, you can make regular instant oatmeal, boullion, hot chocolate, etc. Just ‘brew’ it without using a coffee pod. Plain hot water. Duh. I make cup a soup with mine.
General Mills went pro-sodomy in Minnesota last year, so they lost my business.
Just finished both sandwiches and they came out rather well. Some people shudder when I mention the mayo part but I think it adds something to the flavour that just enhances the taste. Wanted to add a slice of lettuce as well but you lot just made it imperative that I get the sandwiches made quickly with all your 'recipes' here... I just got too hungry.
Besides, I was too lazy to wash an entire head of lettuce just to get a couple of leafs of it for some fast and quick breakfast. *grin*
*laugh* Have to stop thinking about food now. Must attend to other chores.
Toodles!
