I’m not much on sweets-I gave up red meat for Lent, and I’m looking forward to splurging on a steak to grill-and maybe even some asparagus and a tiny piece of cheesecake made with raw sugar-a meal not often had...

That is classic. Also good with a lemon cale batter instead of the yellow.

And I will make it from scratch. Been buying butter must have 15 lbs in the freezer for the cookie table baking. No way I’m paying $4+ per pound.

I have never done a standing rib roast - that is a good idea. I”m thinking loin steaks - so tender and easy to do.

I love ham - but my son doesn’t and it just sounds easier to do steaks

OH my gosh - I just dropped a bowl on my kitchen floor and it literally SHATTERED!! I was stuck in the middle of a floor covered with tiny shards of glass. Fortunately both of my guys were home and came rushing with shoes, broom and vacuum. Holy toledo - there was even glass on the other side of the refrigerator almost behind it! How did it get there??? I had just shredded cheese and had to throw everything away - can’t chance glass being in it

That’s why OSHA does not approve of barefoot in the kitchen. ;-)

Jesus should be exposed in a monstrance for adoration. What gives? Are they being lazy, or do they think we are not worthy to have Him exposed? When did this new trend begin? I am just stunned.

There is a difference between ADORATION and EXPOSITION of the Eucharist. Last night was adoration, but only exposition requires display in the monstrance. no one is lazy or demeaning the congregation.

Oh, ouch! That is one thing about ceramic/clay tile floors that isn’t attractive-when something falls and breaks, it explodes, and you are rushing to keep kids and pets away. As a fellow barefoot-all-the-time person, I try to keep a pair of zories/flip flops/thongs within reach of a couple of tiptoe steps. Once when a bowl with beaten eggs fell and broke, I found egg on the door of an upper cabinet-it was like something on Mythbusters...

I found a small steak at the general store to grill for Easter for less than a king’s ransom, which is a nice surprise...

We used to have exposition. We do not have it at all in the Rochester diocese. I was hoping the new Bishop would have inspired a more traditional Adoration. I can go to Adoration with the Exposition in either of the dioceses surrounding me, I have to go that far for a hospital, might as well go for Adoration. I used to go once a week and if I wasn’t going in for surgery, I would sign up again.

I found it quite amusing that Father put on the extra vestments and carried it like it was a monstrance, when they do the same each mass to return the extra hosts to the tabernacle without any fuss. I am still displeased about the way it was done.

I talked to Father before mass, but only about my BIL’s health. He will be gone in June, no point whining about it to him. I do like him a lot. I made comments to Fr. Brian at RCIA class when I asked if there would be an Exposition, and he said no. I said why the heck not? He just stopped and stared at me for a long moment....I expect if it was up to him it would have been full on Adoration with the Exposition. He is a conservative formal guy all the way.
