This thing is not about what Bundy says that might sound old fashioned.

It’s about the tyrannical behavior of our government.

Careful there Cliven. The “powers” don’t like it when you speak the truth.

Cliven Buddy and family better get on this ASAP-—or else their cause is lost.

The Bundy’s should make a statement on Facebook or elsewhere-—asserting their support for reviewing unjust prison sentences for African-Americans.

Every night we see a story about a Black man unjustly incarcerated-—imprisoned his whole life b/c evidence was manufactured....or something similar.

It was a common practice way back then that redneck cops would fix cases against Blacks who could not defend themselves.

Even the cranky Ben Jealous—NAACP head—is warming up to Republicans who understand the injustice of long prison sentences that weight heavily against Black men.

I am not sure that if Fredrick Douglas were alive today he would not have have made a similar statement.

So, let me see if I’ve got this right.

It was ok for the government to send a tactical squad consisting of almost 200 heavily armed men with machine guns, sniper rifles, grenades, and armored vehicles to steal his cattle, destroy his fences and water storage, murder a number of his bulls and cows, threaten to shoot and basically terrorize his family, neighbors and friends, all because the NY Slimes was able to cleverly edit rancher Clive Bundy’s remarks to make him sound like a “racist”.

Have I got that right?

Bundy does not have a business where he is responsible for any black person.

Bundy’s statement was one of truth and pity, not of hatred.

I(for one)don’t believe Mr. Bundy’s remarks stemmed from”Racism”!I think he was(in an awkward fashion)describing the plight of Black Americans who have been made”Slaves”of Government Programs!!!!!!!!!!!

It’s not ok with me. Or with anyone else on the right side of this.

The left is trying to caricature their opponents so they can then tear them down.

It must get real old for these leftists, propping up an ideology that cannot exist without lies and manipulation.

I had to turn Hannity off today. He was going on about how “repulsive” the quote was. Either he wan’t given the full quote or is coward that can’t take a stand. (I think the latter).

Just substitute the word “blacks” with “anybody” and the meaning is clear.

I didn't know I was a slave until I found out I couldn't do the things I wanted.

- Frederick Douglass

That pretty much describes all of America these days aside from those in government.

It’s definitely true that blacks were treated unfairly in certain circumstances, and I think that would be very difficult to get away with now. As for the drug sentencing, I think in many cases, you’d find that the black defendants were involved with violent gangs or had prior felonies themselves, whereas the white cocaine sniffers were probably insulated from the actual violence...hence the Feds’ pursuit of the white suppliers, such as the Mafia.

That said, since I have lived in the South, I have also realized that a lot of the time the cops were actually pretty lenient with black offenders. It was condescending and probably wrong, but they considered them very prone to crimes like the dresser-top burglary (walking into a home and sweeping the change or a watch off the dresser top) or other low-level crimes, and these things were often arranged without even going to court (the thief would give back what he had stolen and apologize).

The problem in that case was paternalism, and the reality is that the welfare state only increased it. I have an elderly black neighbor who is 96 years old...and she only stopped working (as a cook) 3 years ago! She started working when she was 12.

She had only a couple of children and then her husband died, and they were more or less ok. Probably the children got some kind of aid, but once the LBJ welfare state took over, everything went down the drain. I think most of her grandchildren ended up in jail. Ironically, the only one who did well and started his own business was doing just fine...until Obama became president and killed the building industry.

I think Bundy was simply trying to convey the point that being captives of the Federal Government is not a good situation for anybody. He’s not a politician or a good speaker, and he expressed it from his background. But I don’t really think he was anti-black, just anti-big government. If he’d been more savvy, he would have expressed it differently, because unfortunately, I think he’s shot himself in the foot.

Look, Bundy isn’t some wonky Washington insider, or insider elitist or a talk show host with a mic that reaches millions. He’s just an old guy who badly expressed – believe it or not – empathy with minorities. Yes, if you actually take the time to listen to what he said, in context, he’s anything but “pro-slavery,” and to say so is idiotic and ignorant in the extreme. Political correctness is nothing more than censorship. Even if what the man said was racist – is that a reason to destroy him? I thought we could express ourselves in this country. Only if you toe the liberal line, I guess. Oh yeah, the knives really come out for this old guy who should probably not have pontificated on the subject. But he did, and badly. The race-baiting media whores in this country make me sick. Remember Marge Schott? She was CEO of the Cincinnati Reds. She often said things that actually WERE racist, and these same media creeps thought it was okay to take her personally property away from her because they didn’t like what she said. American media = destroyers, plain and simple. Have fun destroying this old man, sleeze merchants.
