so my latest package no showed again.
it was sent from blinds.com with a tracking #.
USPS claims it was delivered 3/27 . Local PO manager claims the substitute route driver remembers delivering it to our address.
This may or may not be true. I have my doubts since this happened one week prior with a package of mine being delivered to someone 4 blocks away with a completely different name and address.(that person was kind enough to bring it to us)
People will steal anything. What they can’t use, they will sell for drug money.
The thief who took my package wound up with diabetes test strips. Believe it or not, there is a black market for these strips. I suppose the thief unloaded the strips for drug money.
how in the world can the sub remember delivering it??

It’s on the shipper if they did not require a signature on delivery. it’s a PITA for the person getting it, but it does make sure it ends up in someones hands.
My wife’s sister mailed her a birthday card with $40 cash and it arrived taped shut with no money inside. Sent from the Portland, Oregon area.
If you like your blinds, you can keep them!
It is also possible someone is ripping off your packages once delivered.
Was recently going through my late MIL's files and came across a folder on an incident where she sent a package to someone, and it didn't get delivered (got returned). She wrote to Senator Alan Cranston, who wrote to the postmaster general... the postmaster general did an investigation and discovered that the recipient didn't have a prominent sign in the office building lobby. Cranston forwarded back to my MIL the apology letter from the PG who said he would work to improve service.

Well there you go — someone thought they could pull one over on you and you wouldn’t see.
They keep delivering mail to us that is addressed to a business that was down the hall, but moved out six months ago.
A lot of it addressed to some guy with a weird looking foreign name. We have one employee who is Indian. Apparently our Postal Carrier put two and two together, and arrived at the answer “37”.
At my previous address I wondered why I was not getting my 20% off coupons for Bed Bath and Beyond. Then my regular mail carrier was out on sick leave for awhile and I began to get those coupons and other offers. Since I was about to move I did not make an issue of it, but it was plain that my carrier was most likely helping herself.
Good luck getting anywhere with the USPS. FEDEX collaborates with them during Christmas, they told me. A package of ours was delivered by FEDEX to the local PO. The postmaster had tracking, as did we, to the carrier. The carrier documented he delivered it, at a time BEFORE the local PO even received it.
The company didn’t charge us even though it was not their fault.

I ordered an item from Amazon recently and it was shipped UPS but delivered by USPS in one day without any extra charge for rapid delivery. Apparently UPS and USPS are collaborating on the delivery end of it.
However, if you have a birthday card properly addressed it may take 7 days to get to the grandkids in Illinois from here in Corpus Christi, Texas. Still trying to figure that with no success. I note that at least two of the suburban post offices here have once a day pick-up in their drive-thrus and next day delivery of a local piece of mail isn’t happening any longer.
Like everything else, times are a changin’ and not always for the better.
I have begun to send email animated cards and emailed gift cards. I pay for them via Paypal or a Paypal MC debit card, so I have protection or I use Amazon or Discover points.
I do a lot of mailed retail items in my business. Only once in 15 years have I had someone not receive it. She said this had happened to her 3x recently. I replaced the item (low price point), but had her give me an alternate address.
Ir had to have been her carrier.
When I have a problem with something I purchased, when it has been via Paypal, the refund is instant.
I have seen comments suggesting not using debit cards on purchases in case disputes arise because there would be no recourse. I find this completely erroneous based on personal experience.
Just in recent past (2013 Christmas Season) I had two situations involving debit card purchases. One was on an account using Visa and the other, using MasterCard.
In both cases after I made a claim at my bank, my funds were refunded after a brief investigative period.
Perhaps the problems arise when using an ATM or Cash Card not going through the Visa or Mastercard processing network.
Not all debit cards are the same.
The Post Office delivered an Amazon order shipped FedEx “Smart Post” to the wrong address a few months ago. Amazon replaced the order immediately, but the person who received the shipment left the original outside my front door three weeks later!
Obviously the carrier is lying about where he left your package.
File a complaint with the retailer.
I’ve sent e-cards as well but there’s something to a card with Grandpa’s signature and greeting on it. It’ll be hard for the granddaughters to put an e-card in their cedar chests to remember me with when I have expired.
You need to take it higher than the PM. Inspectors need to watch the carrier. I worked as a sub and was questioned by customers frequently about missing items. The regular carrier finally got busted for have truck loads of mail and parcels at his home. The best part was that management had to deliver the items. There have been a few instances that I know of where employees have been caught stealing in my town. We had a supervisor get hauled off by inspectors in front of God and everybody.
My husband and I were just discussing this. I believe people will create electronic memory chests and carry them around in decorative thumb drives or whatever replaces them.
A friend’s mother, now 97, has a huge box of greeting cards that go back decades. Her family just rolls eyes and is talking about scanning some of the more *important* ones, but the granddaughters, now married in their 30s, aren’t interested.
I believe when we are gone and the world goes on, we are simply remembered until there is no one left who actually knew us. Then, I fear we are simply forgotten, except perhaps as a genealogical note.
