I thought I read once that they did it for the military pensions.

Ha! Good one.

This black mom needs to lighten up. When I was 12 I was picking crops for a local farmer to help with the household expenses. Dad was a preacher in a small country church, so “getting by” on his salary was an issue. I think that if I had kids (which I don’t), I’d make sure they put in a couple years of farm work. It builds character.

Hardest job I had as a kid was bailing hay. Honest work for 10 cents an hour.

Did the same for my grandpa, except grandpa didn't believe in a bailing machine.
You picked it up with a pitchfork and loaded the wagon, big wagon, big, big wagon, LOL.
Oh, pay was $1.00, if grandpa way happy that day :)

I ate a lot of hay dust behind the tractor.

The farmer I worked for took a 10 minute nap after lunch and then we went bailing again.

Think that's where I learned to save money that was worked for.
After the hay barn was full to the top, you really didn't want to spend the money for while, it wasn't easy to come by.

Money given to me, birthdays, etc, was blown pretty quickly however.
Easy money versus hard money, I always remembered the hard money :)

In the technical fields, that unit of measurement is referred to as an ‘RCH’.

It’s a decent company for gardening seeds for the SE. I’ve bought from them for several years now. Nothing but good experience so far.
