Father gets restraining order against 5-year-old kindergartener

KENOSHA COUNTY , Wis.,A Wisconsin father has taken out a restraining order against a 5-year-old kindergartener who has allegedly been bullying his daughter at Prairie Lane Elementary School in Kenosha County.

Brian Metzger took out the order after his daughter's classmate allegedly threatened her and physically attacked her.

"She came home and said a student threatened her by saying, 'I want to slit your throat and watch you bleed,'" Metzger told WISN.

According to Metzger, the male student has also bothered other students in the class and the school has shirked its responsibilities in dealing with the situation.

"I think they should have done something a lot sooner. They've kept him in the same classroom with my daughter throughout this until Wednesday morning because Tuesday night I showed up with a restraining order," Metzger said. "What they're doing, their policies aren't good enough."

Metzger is hoping to get the boy permanently removed from the school.

"There's always two sides to every story," Kenosha Unified School District spokeswoman Tanya Ruder said.

When my eldest daughter was in middle school she befell a bully. She was reluctant to even tell me about it because she knew how protective I was and guessed at how I would react.

Things got worse (as that sort of problem usually does) and she finally came to me and let me know about the situation, asking that she be allowed to deal with it (I guess using the insipid rules of non-violent negotiation she had been exposed to at school). I was concerned but agreed - as long as she notified the school of the issue. She did so and it was no surprise that they told her that she just needed to “grow a thicker skin”.

A week or so later she called me at work and told me that he had slammed her against a wall and groped her. I made the 30 minute trip in about 12 minutes and left my car on the sidewalk outside the office. When I demanded to see the principal the drone tried to put me off claiming that I would need to make an appointment. When I marched into the principals office anyway she threatened to call the cops.

“Excellent idea” I replied. “Then when I get finished swearing out a complaint against the little F’r that touched my kid I can swear out a complaint against you at the same time”

She then asked what my complaint was about and I gave her the overview. She tried to give me that “kids will be kids” crap topped with a “it takes two to tango” BS.

I said, “I will give you one opportunity to pull your head out of your liberal politically-correct ass and do the right thing. If you fail to act or protect my daughter then I WILL RESOLVE THIS! And I guarantee right now that you will not like the results!”

It turned out that the bully was (big surprise) a repeat offender and a major PITA for the district. Any attempt at discipline was met with strenuous objections by a politically connected mother. My response was that I didn’t care about what their problems were but that either they fix it or I would.

They expelled him and moved him to another school, thereby kicking the can down the road.

Six months later I moved from the district.

Memo to the dumbass Dems. If a 5 year old actually said the words, “I want to slit your throat and watch you bleed”, that is not “bullying”. IMHO.

I think back to when I was very young, and I know of no situation in which I would have uttered those words.

Kid's got issues.

Years ago, you could call the other parent and expect a reasonable response, and that they would take care of the situation at home. In today’s world, I’m on the side of the dad here.

Wish more parents were like you. Today, bullying is rampant, and authorities routinely blame the victim. Same thing in the workplace.

A guy I know, who went on to become a Master Electrician, used a fork.

Thank you but I don’t deserve it. Even I failed to protect all of my kids from the government indoctrination system. Another story for another day...

My son used a nail after he pried the supposedly “child proof” cover off the outlet. I was in the next room but saw him sort of fly across the room and land on the stairs. He was unharmed. I have always believed it was his Guardian Angel in action. He certainly kept his GA on rapid response duty.
I used to tell him “when you grow up I hope you have a son just like you!” He does. He’s grown now and has 2 of the little guys. ;) One is just like he was. I have apologized to my poor daughter-in-law.

By the time most of us from the early Boomer years recognized the creeping Marxism in the schools, it was too late. But I do continue to try to let mine know why I believe what I do, in spite of the eye rolling. Hear my now, believe me later.

I had a bully. Peter, his name was.

I went hog-ass wild on him one day, just hitting and hitting and never letting up. I was a machine with no off switch.

From then on, he cowered and slunk away from ME. I expect today he would have called ME the bully. LOL

What a story! I think it’s the really smart ones, with one small blind spot, that just have to figure out how those outlets work. The guy I mentioned was sitting in an old-fashioned wooden rocker when he did the fork experiment. As it was told to me, the rocker saved him. After hearing your story, I’ll have to modify that opinion. Anyway, I’m glad your son is healthy & has two of his own—including one, it sounds like, who keeps him busy. :)

“’There’s always two sides to every story,’ Kenosha Unified School District spokeswoman Tanya Ruder said.”

She’s with the School District and her grammar is atrocious. For TWO (plural) sides of a story, it should be “There are”, not “There’s” (there is). Lovely to know that schools are being represented by an idiot.

I had a bully who outweighed me by 50 pounds and picked on me daily.

No other guy would mess with him, so I’d be befriended the toughest girl in school.

She kicked his ass and that was the end of it.

I had a bully. Bruce, his name was. It occured from kindergarten through fifth grade. It was verbal and relentless. I was meek, never stood up to him, and never told my parents.

Fifth grade, I spent six months in the hospital, and when sixth grade started I was on crutches. Bruce never missed a beat, and opened his mouth to begin another verbal assault. Without thinking, I whipped around, held a crutch perpendicular to my body, swung it hard, and hit him hard on his side. That was the end of it, and I’m pretty sure he wasn’t happy about being one-upped by a shy girl.

Now, I’d probably be in trouble, but it was 1959 and things were different then.

The teacher could step in, but she won’t. The Principal could, but he won’t.

He has to draw a picture of a gun before they will act.
