I don't know what that tomato is and that really ticks me off.One of the advantages of finding and sticking with one reliable producer.
That one? It's a roma. That one is too... ;)
/johnny
To: JRandomFreeper
Roma was my most dominate tomato....Until I discovered Rio Grande. Rio Grande has the same compact growth habit, super heavy yield, maintenance free, disease resistant, flavor, and meaty fruit as roma. However, the fruits are bigger. Hugh and series fruit.

I'll be here for the new thread tomorrow, then go Saturday with the earth physicist and take Prissy to check out his part of Texas. Will take computer with me, may be gone two weeks or more. Who's going to water your garden? Keep the squirrels at bay?

Will they breed true if I save seed?

That tingly feeling you get when you fall in love is common sense leaving your body. ;)

“sticking with one reliable producer”
This year is planting numerous kinds to determine which will be the most reliable for me. I have so many tomatoes on those various plants now, I can’t believe I did it from seed and actually have tomatoes.
If it hadn’t been for you, I wouldn’t have one tomato or anything else out there, including those large tobacco plants.

Indeed! They are heirloom. I didn’t discover them until about three years ago. Now I am hooked.

The plants are so water logged, they should be okay for a while even if there is no more rain. Tomorrow, I’m putting netting over all the producing tomato plants. I have a few cucumbers to pick and will take those with me.

I need to find some seeds then, I've still got the fall season year for tomatoes.

Does that happen to guys too? I quit dating because I would get stupider in direct proportion to the progress of the romance. So now I herd cats.

I hope you will be pleased with the rio grande tomatoes, that they will do well for you. All my high desert gardening friends have made the switch from roma to rio grande.

The scientific name is hormone Oxytocin. It beats sitting here alone day after day. Going to two casinos in Oklahoma in a big bus with a house in it, Class A RV., think pretty much Greyhound size. And you and sockmonkey want me to stay home to put water on plants? Ahh, no.

Perhaps your picker is broken.
Next time pick ones that already own a house, or a farm, or a place by the sea.

Well, in a two week camping trip, you will probably figure out if you are a match or not.

No. I don't play that game anymore. I'm not moving, and no one is moving in here. I finally know where everything is. ;)

At least take the plants with you....

“in a two week camping trip,”
I wouldn’t call it camping as we’ll be in town, not the woods, and in casinos. The bus is the hotel.
I don’t do camping in the woods or by a lake - any of that stuff where mosquitos and other critters bite or sting me.

Right, not a problem - move 135 containers into the bus.
