NYC: Worst Rat Infestation In The World
Breitbart Big Government ^ | 24 Jan 2014 | by ROBERT WILDE

Posted on 06/04/2014 3:21:47 PM PDT by kingattax

The popular and informational television station Animal Planet has named New York City the worst city for rats in the world. In this case, they are not referring to politicians.

We are talking about “Rattus norvegicus,” otherwise known as the "brown rat." Brown rats are a scourge to rural and urban areas and are one of the most serious pests on the planet, carrying diseases and multiplying at exponential speed. One pair of rats can multiply up to 200 times in just one year.

They are adept at climbing, swimming, and yes, working their way thru a serpentine of sewer pipes and exiting your toilet bowl. It is estimated that NYC has twice as many rats as they do humans. If you run the math, that would total about 16 million rats.

Looks like some lady wants SF to be the rat winner. Apparently she keeps releasing rats into parks and stuff. The SF officials claim they can’t stop her. More Leftist zugzwang.

Unlike the human variety rats actually serve a purpose.

I am so sick of rats. They have infested every area of human endeavor.

Rats with Barack Boko Haram Hussein Obama at the helm have destroyed America. People my age are moving in with their parents, not to take care of them, but because they are unemployed, homeless, and no longer even own a car.

Rats. Well done. You have worked all your magic and now America is a turd world country.

So you liberals are not so effing stupid after all. You destroyed the greatest nation that has ever existed.

Again, well done. I hope you all starve to death and that illegal aliens will murder you as you hide in a cardboard box under a freeway overpass.

My Ruger pellet rifle knocks em dead here in Memphis at 50 yards. They are fast though. They do not pause in transit from point to point like squirrels do.

I’ll never forget putting the rat guards on the lines tying us to the docks in Galveston, TX during a Liberty cruise in ‘72.

I had watch one night and peered under the dock. I thought a dog was crawlin around under there! Big friggin rats!!

The combined rat intelligence of Washington Dc, NYC and SFO exceeds that of the human population of any of the three. Or all of the three cities combined.

How about releasing some feral cats down below? I hear Italy is doing that to fight their rat infested problem.

A male rat will continue mating with a female rat even if she’s dead. A ‘dominant male rat may mate with up to twenty female rats in just six hours.’”

I did not know that.................................

Dang man, they should. There’s a lot of those around. I think in times past (maybe the Bubonic plague) the only way they could stop the rats was releasing cats.

One pair of rats can multiply up to 200 times in just one year.

How can that be if the gestation period is 3 weeks?

Wow, I don’t know what is worse, the 4 legged rats or the 2 legged rats. NYC deserves both. No offense to people who are decent suffering through this scourge.

The gestation time means nothing, the male NYC rat moves from one broad rat to the next. He doesn’t hang around for the birth. LOL

Many humans do the same thing, except we have to pay for their little spawns. I guess rats are better.

I know that.

It said "one pair of rats can multiply up to 200 times" in a year. I took that to mean A PAIR, i.e. the SAME male and female. Lousy writing.

200 is the number of offspring.

Then they should have said a pair can create 200 offspring a year. What they said was one pair of rats can multiply up to 200 times a year. To me that means mate, not create.

That’s interesting. I lived in NYC for a while decades ago and that’s easy to imagine.

Now I live near woods, the worst pests are the roaming hungry herds of wild deer carrying Lyme disease ticks, and maybe a few poison snakes, but they stay in the woods unlike the deer.

But rats are not a problem even if garbage is left outside, I can see the wild foxes roaming around looking for live food like them.
