Finally, an actress who isn’t a typical self-absorbed Hollywood phony.

She is also talented.

This too is becoming increasingly rare.

Amy Adams has always been one of my favorite actresses from the younger set.

She's a Denver gal. And yes, very classy.

BTW, she's the daughter of a serviceman.

Don’t the usual “rules” apply here?

"The actress, whose father was in the U.S. military, then went back to her new seat in coach."

FWIW, this practice is fairly common amongst us frequent fliers. 1st class upgrade seats are frequently offered to service members, as are exit rows and invites to the travel lounges where no USO is present.

An American Airlines flight crew moved me from coach to first class while in flight because I was in uniform.

it’s a nice gesture but as a guy i would feel weird having a girl give up her seat to me, in 1st class no less.

maybe if i was single i’d say give it to the guy next to me and sit down, let’s talk...

From Wikipedia:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amy_Adams

Her father was a U.S. serviceman stationed at Caserma Ederle at the time of her birth, and took the entire family from base to base, before settling in Castle Rock, Colorado, when Adams was eight years old.

Thereafter, her father sang professionally in restaurants and her mother was a semi-professional bodybuilder.

Adams was raised in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church), but her family left the LDS Church after her parents’ divorce in 1985.

Adams said her religious upbringing “... instilled in me a value system I still hold true. The basic ‘Do unto others...’, that was what was hammered into me. And love.

Same here, a few times (when first class had empty seats), but the best was being invited into the cockpit.
