Yes, Apple has security updates. I can assure you that OSX is 100x more secure than any Windows. In addition, Microsoft’s software updater on Mac constantly downloads huge patches for Office. Clearly, Microsoft’s software has structural security issues.

Also released today are:

Apple iOS 7.1.2:

iOS 7.1.2 contains bug fixes and security updates, including:

Apple iOS for AppleTV release 6.2

Apple today released Apple TV Software Update 6.2 in the following versions:

To update your Apple TV to the current software version:

1. Select Settings > General > Update Software. Apple TV checks for an available update; if one is available, a download message should appear.
2. Click Download and Install to start the download process.

Note: Do not disconnect your Apple TV during the update process. The Apple TV status light may flash slowly during the update and restart process. This is expected behavior.

Allegedly. I caught a virus on my Mac that replaced all Microsoft files with *.docu and you could change the name.

Who allegedly alleged this?

I’m running OS Version 10.6.8 on my late 2008 MacBook. I just doubled the RAM from 2 to 4 GB which is supposed to make it easier for Mavericks to run. But I am concerned that older software programs I use, like Office for Mac 2011, may not be compatible with an upgrade to Mavericks.

You didn’t get a virus on your Mac unless you entered your password to elevate privileges.

You didn’t get a virus on your Mac unless you entered your password to elevate privileges.

That is why I will only update the Adobe Flash software manually from their website. However, I was not able to find how to update Adobe AIR manually, so when I open software that uses Adobe AIR I'll get a pop-up window notification to update. In that case, I have entered the password to update it, and hoped that it wasn't a scam.

Thank you! I may give it a whirl. Did you find the latest OS to be an improvement?

Everything seems to work so seamlessly with their products that I seldom notice any differences.

You didn’t get a virus on your Mac unless you entered your password to elevate privileges.

Even then, it is not a "virus". . . there are a grand total of zero Mac OSX viruses. There are some things that are classified as "malware" and only a few that affect modern OSX Macs. There are seven known families of OSX Trojans with a total of 54 variants, all of which the OS—which is updated when ever a new variant is discovered—will protect you against if you let it. That means DON'T ignore the warning when it pops up!

Fixes an issue that prevented some Macs from automatically connecting to known Wi-Fi networks

What would cause "some Macs" to exhibit this behavior and not others? They are pretty much identical.
