SOMERVILLE (CBS) – A Somerville teacher has been arrested and charged with raping a 13-year-old child.
Alexandra Romanos, 41, of Stoneham, was arraigned Wednesday on two counts of aggravated rape of a child, and three counts of indecent assault and battery on a child under 14.
According to the DA’s office, a parent tipped off the school department last month about the teacher’s alleged relationship with a 13-year-old, which had been ongoing since March and had occurred both on and off school grounds.
Romanos taught 5th graders at the East Somerville Community School, and has worked there for seven years.
A judge ordered Romanos held on $50,000 bail, according to the DA’s office. If she does post bail, she is prohibited from having contact with the victim or the victim’s family and cannot have unsupervised contact with children under 16. She must also stay away from Somerville schools, wear a GPS monitor and remain under house arrest.

This is taking “education” a bit too far. Oh, those hard-working, underpaid “educators”...a laugh a minute.
Somerville is a wanna-be Cambridge.
We don’t know if the victim was a boy or a girl. It could have been a homosexual sexual situation.
I think part of it is the changes in society in last 40 to 50 years.
Part of that has to do with sexual boundaries. Sexual boundaries of any kind have dissolved since the sexual revolution of the ‘60s.
This girl, being in her 40s, grew up in a culture in which it’s considered okay to have sex with anybody, any number of partners, any gender of partners. There are no sexual taboos anymore. Yes I know adult child sex is illegal, but to the twisted minds who have been raised in a sexually permissive culture, legalities such as those don’t matter.
Add in the overlay of homosexuality in the schools, such as Gay Straight Alliance Clubs in so many schools, and you have a situation in which the adults, teachers, just don’t see any moral or ethical boundaries regarding their sexual behavior.

The “new phenomena” are selfies and text messages. Moms (always moms) discover them more readily and the evidence stands up in court. The boys never report it and never will (except bragging to friends) and if it was discovered before, lack of evidence resulted in it being handled discretely.
They're getting better, but they still managed to snag that guilty DA at least twice.

I do know about that case. Remember it well.
That's why I'm skeptical of ANY charges involving kids & sex. Evil prosecutors ruin lives and bask in the glory. And most Americans just cheer them on, assuming that lawmen always tell the truth.
News operations should show the same restraint in naming the accused as they do the victims. Too many of these cases are bogus.
