Surviving the Collapse, Not Only Physically But Spiritually
Survival Blog ^ | 7/7/14 | F.C.

The collapse will bring out the best and worst in all of us. Many of us will question why the collapse has happened. Many of us will wonder if God is punishing us for our personal or collective national sins, including abortion, promiscuity, pornography, drug addiction, and allowing other types of idols to creep into our lives. Now that the deceptive shackles of toys, gadgets, and other distractions have been stripped away, many of us will be sincerely looking for answers to some difficult questions: Why did my best friend die, but I survived? Why are there so many people who are dying of hunger? Why doesn’t the government do something about it? Is it really true that some people purposely caused this to happen? How could they be so evil? How could a loving God allow all this suffering and death to occur? Am I going to be the next one to die?

Couldn’t get the link to open....

Still, IMHO....

Man proposes, God disposes. In the end, we are all worm-food.

Having been through the loss of my best friend (Dad), my only request to HIM was that Dad not suffer. Thankfully, he didn’t.

My daily prayer requests are simple...”Give me the strength to get through today”, & “May my family & friends not have my worries”.

HIS will be done. We aren’t given more than we can handle, though some of us are certainly given more than our fair share (at least what seems like it to us).

Regardless, HE is the last one i would question, other than during a SHTF Scenario, “What took you so long to start/end this crap?”

Our Christian Duty to our Fellow Man

For many Christians their responsibilities to their fellow men weight heavy in their minds and the vision of a friend or neighbor coming to them for help with a staving child is a nightmare that they fear.

I have discussed this subject at length with fellow ‘preppers’ on various online preparedness groups that I frequent to and I have come to the conclusion that there is no ‘one size fits all’ answer.

For almost every scripture one quotes as to it being our Christian duty to do all we can to help our fellow man, one may quote another that distains the slothful and the ill-prepared.

In the end I believe it is up to each of us and the circumstances as to what and how much action we take. For a childless couple to give a neighbor a couple cans of powdered milk during a blizzard is not the same as a couple with children doing the same thing after an EMP attack.

To me the order of things should be God, my family and then my fellow man. I should never do

anything that jeopardizes the relationship that come before.

As for me to ease my conscience and hopefully meet my duty as a Christian my own plan is to put away an extra 10% of ‘preps’ to use as tithe towards helping my fellows in an emergency. To me by setting aside that which God ask in tribute and then distribute it to those in need I have meet God’s covenants and yet have not place my family in need or want.

I will add a warning to this solution and that is for you to be careful as to how you distribute this aid. In these days in which so many seem to deem that it is their ‘right’ to have their needs provided to them by others, the knowledge that you have prepared and have stores of food and goods could quickly cause others to ‘demand’ that you share.

When possible I urge you go through a trusted third-party to donate your extra stocks, your church or an organization such as the Salvation Army are two good choices. But try to remain anonymous with your assistance, for desperate times drive many to desperate deeds. There is a quote from one of my all time favorite TV shows Deep Space Nine which explains this so very well:

1 Timothy 5:8 says:

If anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for his immediate family, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.

You should never commit an act of charity that in turns places your family’s safety in jeopardy.

In the end, that’s the thing, right?

Putting your own in danger is a bad, bad thing.

I’m still selfish enough to protect my own beyond the unprepared neighbors and their broods. My heart will break, but wouldn’t be as broken knowing I starved my family to save someone else, who did nothing to prepare for the future & looked to me for a bailout.

And further selfish knowing I don’t share our preparedness info with anyone...so hopefully this won’t be a problem on down the line...

I let a friend of mine in on my concerns about the future and told him that I was laying in supplies. He laughed and said “Great. I know right where to bring my family if the SHTF.”

I laughed right back and said I’d shoot him down right in front of his wife and kids if he did. He got real quiet. Then he asked if I was serious. I just looked at him.

That was four or five years ago. He’s now almost as well stocked as I am and we have an inventory of skill sets we can share when things go bad.

Woke him up, I did.

Say your prayers and keep a bible in your kit.

Good advice about the bible in the kit, there is nothing better than Scripture to provide reassurance, guidance and solace.

I’d like to think I’m saved.

You can be absolutely certain right now and experience the peace that comes with knowing for sure. I invite you to check this out from the Billy Graham Association: Peace With God

I don’t talk with friends or certain family about such things. Those that know me, know me.

My thinking is to get right with the Maker, then everything else will take care of itself.

Well if God made man the way he is, wouldn’t it follow that God gave him the capacity for him/her to fail or succeed? And if that is true, wouldn’t it be God’s fault for making man that way to allow for man’s failure?

I had a dream the other night, I didn’t understand.
A figure walking through the mist, with flintlock in his hand.
His clothes were torn and dirty, as he stood there by my bed.
He took off his three-cornered hat, and speaking low, he said:

“We fought a revolution, to secure our liberty.
We wrote the Constitution, as a shield from tyranny.
For future generations, this legacy we gave.
In this, the land of the free and the home of the brave.

“The freedom we secured for you, we hoped you’d always keep.
But tyrants labored endlessly while your parents were asleep.
Your freedom gone, your courage lost, you’re no more than a slave.
In this, the land of the free and home of the brave.

“You buy permits to travel, and permits to own a gun,
Permits to start a business, or to build a place for one.
On land that you believe you own, you pay a yearly rent.
Although you have no voice in choosing, how the money’s spent.

“Your children must attend a school that doesn’t educate.
Your Christian values can’t be taught, according to the state.
You read about the current news, in a regulated press.
You pay a tax you do not owe, to please the I.R.S.

“Your money is no longer made of Silver or of Gold.
You trade your wealth for paper, so your life can be controlled.
You pay for crimes that make our Nation, turn from God in shame.
You’ve taken Satan’s number, as you’ve traded in your name.

“You’ve given government control, to those who do you harm,
So they can padlock churches, and steal the family farm,
And keep our country deep in debt, put men of God in jail,
Harass your fellow countrymen, while corrupted courts prevail.

“Your public servants don’t uphold the solemn oath they’ve sworn.
Your daughters visit doctors, so their children won’t be born.
Your leaders ship artillery, and guns to foreign shores,
And send your sons to slaughter, fighting other people’s wars.

“Can you regain the freedom for which we fought and died?
Or don’t you have the courage, or the faith to stand with pride?
Are there no more values for which you’ll fight to save?
Or do you wish your children, to live in fear and be a slave?

“People of the Republic, arise and take a stand!
Defend the Constitution, the Supreme Law of the Land!
Preserve our Great Republic, and GOD-Given Right!
And pray to GOD, to keep the torch of Freedom burning bright!”

As I awoke he vanished, in the mist from whence he came.
His words were true, we are not Free, we have ourselves to blame.
For even now as tyrants, trample each GOD-Given Right,
We only watch and tremble, too afraid to stand and fight.

If he stood by your bedside, in a dream, while you’re asleep,
And wonders what remains of our Rights he fought to keep,
What would be your answer, if he called out from the grave:
“IS THIS STILL THE LAND OF THE FREE AND HOME OF THE BRAVE???”

I don’t worry for my LORD walks with me

I had a friend say that to me too. so I got serious and sold my house, moved and will tell people my PO box # but not where the house is. Even family members until they come visit. The closest to me, hasn't even done that yet so they will be out of luck to mooch.

God is never to blame for the failures of man

Paraphrasing and simplifying Nietsche: If God does not exist, then man is the supreme being. If that happens evil will prevail over good.

Those who rule the world now are godless. They worship power and wealth. They either deny there is a God or rule against His principles. The result is evil.

I believe Nietsche also inferred that if there is no God, man will have to invent one for our own salvation. Following this argument, it's illogical to deny God. Doing so is the failure of man that leads to our destruction.
